Because they still don't get that there is only one race, the human race.  It's as silly as saying it's wrong for someone with brown hair to be with someone with red hair.

its sad to say that part of my family used to believe in staying with your own race but when i had my first child there whole life beliefs went up in smoke cause then they looked at my chile and saw a great grand child and so forth and not a half black baby that was suppose to mess up our blood lines..i now have 4 kids and it took till i had my first to make some of my family my child is just a child not anything else..when my family would see other races they had a different view and a better understanding that we are all really the same but some are darker then others.now my family wouldnt give up the love they get from my chilodren for the world..and they are all very proud to be parts of my childrens lives..kind of like a proud parent..

You are so right it is sad. People cannot see past their own prejudices and see that there are wonderful people in all races.

Because they have narrow minds.  When I go to the store with husband and daughter, if we seperate people will talk to me,  when he joins me they give me a nasty look and walk off.  We just laugh at it, because they dont make or break what we have together.  I was shocked at first because people I had known for years cut me out of their lives when I married a black man, and on the flip side people who had never talked to me became good friends.  My best friend is my sister in law I love her so much.

I haven't really noticed anyone publically disapproving of my white/black relationship. My aunt did ask my dad why he didn't warn her that my boyfriend was black before I indtroduced him to the family. I was surprised at that. She is the most liberal in my family. People are weird.

There is so many racism, sterotypes, and lies in this world. I honestly doubt there will ever be a person born with the origin of the entire human race.

we're all a bunch of mixed up kids..on my dads side, i am english and indian on my mothers side i am french, indian and german...there no longer is a pure human race and besides that we can't change who we fall in love with whethewr it's a prince charming or shrek the ogre.

Wow I still cant believe that people have an issue with interracial realtionships. I am a blk woman but I dont see anything wrong with dating outside of my race. I believe people hae issues with it because they are small minded and dont realize that human love is what it is, whether white, black, hispanic, etc. In my family we have mixed children and they are not treated any different than the all black children.

Perhaps they weren't expose to IR love growing up. I have nothing against IR couples but its just not for me.
