The free versions of Avast and AVG are favorable for me. They seem to work very decently and doesn't hog too much of the resources.

I use Avast as a free member then I upgraded, and its working really good.  I also use Orbit Malware  and  Advanced 4 System Care.  I keep my computer running good.

We have tried Norton and some others.  But the IT person at both my old job and my husbands job recommend Avast its the best.  Get the free version online.

I use Trend Micro.  The only one I really won't recommend is McAfee.  It hogs PC resources.

I've been using a combo of AVG, Ad-Aware and Windows Firewall for years, and knock on wood everything's been OK so far. I also use the No-Script extension for Firefox.

I've never actually heard of Avast. I've had a combination of AVG and Malwarebytes. Norton is no longer a very good program. I thought it was, but it seems like the scans take longer than they should. Both AVG and Malwarebytes are free programs, and you can upgrade when you need to. But I like Malwarebytes MUCH better.

I was using McAfee for years. Until I ended up getting a virus on my computer and I could not get rid of the virus. Until a friend told me to try Microsoft Security Essentials and it got rid of the virus and it is free on Microsoft website.
