How do you get rid of these phone calls?
« on: September 04, 2011, 08:37:35 am »
I go through streaks where I get one or two a day from different area codes with the same message.  "This is your last chance to get a lower interest rate on your credit card".  Most of the time the same person is giving the message.  A few times I have listened to the end to get to a real person.  When they ash how they may help me, I tell them I no longer wish to get their phone calls and want them                              that is when they slam the receiver down in my ear.   I am on the "do not call" list.  I hear I am not the only person who is getting these and so far nobody knows how to stop them.  Anybody have any ideas?

Do you report them on the Do Not Call site? I do that every time I receive an unwanted call. I have also just picked up the call and pressed buttons until they stop lol

I have a friend who just lets the phone set for a few minutes while the person is talking.  She says it saves a couple more people from getting phone calls.

They can be reported, but each call is from a different area code.

They won't stop lol.

Research shows that when you constantly talk to someone of an offer, they will reject but at a time they will give in and accept.

Every company uses that trick. So what you can do, is donnot answer and put them on a non-vibrate, and no sound list. That way when the number calls you'll just see your screen of the caller ID without it bothering you. And they won't leave message if you don't talk to them, so most of the times they will keep on calling.

The Angriest thing to do, is sue that specific company. Send them a court summon and charge them for roam charges or anything. You can even fake a car accident and you explained to the judge while you were driving that person calls, and you showed the previous Call History. They will be in serious trouble and that company either pays you or go to jail, then the end is that they won't call you anymore.

Lastly, when you fill out offers online, instead of putting your phone number, put theirs. That's if you don't want to get called lol. Then they will get tired all the times different company calling them non-stop and lose business for a week or two.

In a way, when you think about it, it's in your advantage these companies calls you, and if you're smart you can make a case out of it.

That's pretty funny almost as good as giving an Ex's number(which is SO wrong:0), I think I will try that just to annoy them. I don't think it will make the calls stop though. So far they are lessening as I am paying more attention to make sure I put the right phone number in and make sure the auto check is unchecked or checked.
