Why do people go to church on Sunday when the Bible seems to say that the seventh day is the Sabbath?

The Sabbath Day as referred to in the Bible was established for the Jewish people (God's chosen people). Their day of prayer is on Saturdays.

I've heard that reason before, but it doesn't make sense to me. Adam and Eve weren't Jews, were they? (Genesis 2:2-3)
