Why Do People Forget To Clean Their Tongue?

I brush my tongue every time I brush my teeth.  I also very, very lightly brush the roof of my mouth, the inside of my cheeks, and gums.

???Why do people forget to clean their tongue after they brush their teeth? I guess they don't know how important it is to clean their tongue. The tongue is one of the reasons why people have bad breath. Because germs and plaque bacteria forms on top of the top and if it is not remove it can  cause bad breath, tooth decay, and gum disease. I have noticed that most of the dentists or hygienists on televison advertisements for toothpaste or toothbrushes are always saying  brush and floss your teeth to prevent tooth decay and gum disease but they never say and clean your tongue.

lol.... i dont know why they do that but they should really tell people to brush their tongue cuz its nasty

Why? Lets see, time, habit, time again....lol. I brush my tongue but I didn't use to. Most people don't think about it, because they use a toothbrush, not a tongue brush. There are tongue scrapers out there but you don't really see them in the stores next to the toothbrushes and toothpaste and mouth rinse. Maybe if marketers put them together with those items, more people would pick them up and use them. Also, I don't believe most dentist cover this topic during your visits, or at the least mine haven't. It is an important part of hygiene, and needs more attention brought to it.

When I was first married(big Mistake) my then husband saw me brushing my tongue and thought I was crazy. He said that a person was not supposed to brush their tongue? I ask him why not and all he could say was it it to weird. A few days later we heard on the NEWS that brushing your tongue everyday was a good thing to do. I looked at him and said I told you so. He got mad.

I brush my tongue and have taught my children to do it.  I think the dentist should make more people aware of how important it is, but they would lose business if less people got cavities.
