I think it is getting a little better.  After looking for a part-time job for four years, I got a job!  It is only 16 hours a week, but it is something. Good luck to any one who is looking for a job.

12.1% according to http://www.bls.gov/web/laus/laumstrk.htm

Though it's probably much higher than that due to undocumented information.

You have to find several small things that you can do to make little incomes. First and foremost----SAVE EVERY PENNY YOU CAN-----EVERY WAY YOU CAN !! Instead of eating out-----Buy a loaf of bread, a dozen eggs, and a pound of bacon or sausage---NOW you have breakfast for a week, for about the cost of ONE BREAKFAST at a restaurant. OR buy a gallon of milk and a BIG BOX of cereal. Learn to make home made soups. You can save leftovers and put them in the soup. Use coupons for everything you can. If you have a car, offer rides to others for less than the taxicab fare. Sell things you don't need. Offer to clean for others, or babysit, or elder sit. Walk their dogs. House sit. Cut hair. Can you do any kind of crafts and sell on Etsy. Wash someone's car, etc. You can think of others.

Participate in several FREE programs on the web to make a little money. Stay Positive, Ask God for Help and DON'T GIVE UP !!

My apology, IF I caused any confusion about Getting Rid of Obama and his bunch of Chicago thugs. IF YOU ARE UNEMPLOYED------He has done nothing but make everything MUCH WORSE. He ran up this nation's DEBT ( called the defecit) MORE THAN ALL THE OTHER PRESIDENTS and their defecits ADDED TOGETHER SINCE GEORGE WASHINGTON.

Sooooo, if you are unemployed and unhappy with this economy-----then you need to do whatever you can to get rid of the IDIOTS and CROOKS!!

Here is a clue-----Occupying Wall Street WON'T DO IT !!! Educate yourself and VOTE THE CROOKS OUT !!!

No, that would be Bush.

Obama has made it worse by just not 'capping the leaks'-- the deficit Bush inflicted will take much longer to fix than 1 presidential term. Try 20-50 years. In that sense, I feel your frustration. Obama is trying, but it's just not working very well. Too much flak being thrown between both parties and not enough cooperation to fix the hull breach.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_debt_by_U.S._presidential_terms

Obama has made it worse by just not 'capping the leaks'-- the deficit Bush inflicted will take much longer to fix than 1 presidential term.

Looks like G.W. Bush's last term added $3,971,000,000,000 or so to the national debt, (2005-2009, = +20.7%), while Obama's has presided over a 9% increase in that debt, ($1,665,000,000,000).  In fact, the records indicate that the deficit increased by $3,356,000,000,000 under Reagan and Bush Sr. between 1981 & 1993, (that's +33.6%).

So it seems claims that it's 'all Obama's fault' are somewhat exagerated.  Much of this misplaced 'blame' can be laid at the feet of Republicans throwing their vested-interest monkey wrenches into the works however, the goal is not to fix the blame but, to fix the problem.  The trouble is, there are apparently no viable/workable solutions which reduce the debt without the economy taking another big hit.
One can lead a horse to water however, if one holds the horse's head under, that horse will drown.
