I am starting my Blog called Puppytale. One reason I love animals, two, I just got a new puppy, three, I am looking for other people that may have inovative ways of house training. I live in a high rise apartment so right now especially until I get his shots, I am limited to taking him outdoors to poop. So Paper training right now. But it is hit and miss (ha ha), literally. Any good suggestions on paper training out there?
I saw an excellent way on Animal Planets "It's me or the dog".Use a large gated area in the house. Cover the entire floor with puppy pads.Slowly start removing pads - about 1 a week to uncover floor. The dog SHOULD start only using the pads and not the floor.Eventually you should be down to 1 puppy pad.For an apartment they highly recommend keeping a pad somewhere in the house because the dog does not have access to outside at will.Putting down a puppy pad outside when you take the dog out will help with going outside.Hope this helps
Cute pup. Dogs are a lot of fun, but can be a lot of work. Make sure the pup gets lots of exercise. Good luck!
