What's the sales tax in your state?

I'm in WI, my county has 5.5%, but sales taxes range 5.0 - 5.6% throughout WI.

2.9% in Colorado, but the cities and counties tack on thier own taxes, so it varies.  Where I live its 7.4 total between the state, county, and city .

And another reason to love the beautiful state of Oregon.....We have no sales tax.....we have voted it down 9 or 10 times I believe.

Kentucky's state sales tax is 6%.  A lot of cities and communities are now allowed to charge a "tourism" tax that adds 1% - 5% for restaurants and/or hotels.

Where I live the state tax is 6.35%.  It just went up to that it was 6%.

It's 6.00% here in Michigan.  Thankfully, it doesn't apply to groceries.

In MA it's 6.25%.What galls me is,we had a chance to vote it down to 3% and it failed! What idiot doesn't  vote themselves a tax cut-especially in these trying times!

It's funny how our state voted to eliminate the alcohol "sin tax" and to decriminalize marajuana!I guess Mass likes it's dope & booze,and doesn't mind paying through the nose on everything else.

New Jersey's sales tax rate is 7 percent.  All retail sales are taxable unless specifically exempt by law. Exemptions include most food items for at-home preparation, medicines, clothing, footwear and disposable paper products for use in the home.
