I don't believe in vampires of the fantasy sort.  I have, though, recently talked with a friend of mine about people that seem to weaken/drain your energy to be around.  I am not speaking of the typical whinny or depressing moody people that affect your conscious will.  I am speaking of seemingly cheerful and normal people that seem to emit/exert a fatiguing or weakening effect upon others.  I suppose it could be something that I am not noticing that is perfectly explainable such as posture/body presentation or even something pheromone or sound based.  I haven't been able to isolate such things though and lack the tech to do it even if it is such.

I've also encountered the concept of so-called "psychic vampires".  Whether or not such people are 'feeding off of others' without fangs intentionally or not, it isn't precisely clear that it's a 'negative empathy' sort of thing or something else entirely.

"Throughout recorded history and probably back beyond that, the idea of the psychic vampire has haunted mankind’s dreams. Strange mystical, mythical creatures who lurked in the darker recesses of the human mind, these beings were thought to sap the energy of living mortals, reducing them, unless stopped, to shadows of their former selves. People who, for no apparent reason, became continuously tired, listless and lethargic were often thought to have been visited by vampires or evil spirits." -- By Dr van Neümig   http://whitedragon.org.uk/articles/vampyres.htm
One can lead a horse to water however, if one holds the horse's head under, that horse will drown.

There are sanguinarians in the world (people that drink blood). There are people that "suck the life out of you" (everyone's met at least one. lol!)
Say hello to vampires.
Then there's people like me who hate Twilight and True Blood, but still obsess over the more classical vampire culture, *ahem* Bela Lugosi. v--v
Please focus you're attention to my neck... (Yeah, that's me.)

They're micro-dermal implants.
That small modification (along with my photo-sensitivity) leads the overly religious elderly women in my neighborhood to believe vampires are real.

If it isn't too personal to ask; are those micro-dermal implants cosmetic, a feeding station for sanguinarians or, something else altogether?

They're purely cosmetic. I wanted to give the aesthetic of a vampire bite, but I felt that a tattoo was too cliche.

I see.  Please don't take this as derisive; from what I understand, the vampiric aesthetic is said to be more subtle than cosmetic.  However, there are shades of subtle and more than I'm aware of in matters wampyre.

I don't personally practice the ideals of the Embraced so I don't follow the Black Veil's principles of discretion and the like because I'm not one of them, so I have nothing to hide. I just always loved vampires and had friends with the vampire bite tattoo so I felt I would shoot for something more unique.

The veiled references could leave you up to your neck in enough speculations to make one's blood boil however, these puns are not intended in anything other than mild humor.  Nor am I impaling your aesthetic on a whimsical stake here, just because you have nothing to hide.  No doubt a more indepth conversation would be possible elsewhere.  In any case; Xeper, Xepera, Xeperu.

Vampires could exist. Some sort of human that evolved to sustain life from blood like a leech. Hmm... We may never know.
