Just be realistic and share your own success with people who are LOOKING for ways to make money online. Setting up a blog is a good start and videos on YouTube can attract a lot of attention.
How often should a blog be updated to regularly catch referrals or be active?

I would recommend three days a week because that is what I do and it help me out.
I go MONTHS without updating my blog and it still works. There is a HUGE difference between blogging for money and making money from a blog. I have no interest in all the work involved in blogging for money, I just use my blog as a tool to get referrals.
I was wondering about that. I know you have a lot of blogs and websites and I figured you probably wouldn't want to spend all day updating them.

Thanks OldBuddy for sharing your techniques with some of us that don't know how to get referrals yet. I've had 4 cashouts from Fusion Cash so far. One every month since I started. I don't think I'm going to make it this month for the first time, but that's my own fault. I've been really busy. I have a 2 year old and 5 month old and my 2 year old's birthday is tomorrow, so I've been busy busy. As it is, I usually can only get on FC late at night after they are in bed and maybe a few minutes throughout the day, but all that time has been going to wrapping present etc. So it's been about 5 months since I started here and I have had no luck with referrals. It looks like it's so easy for some people. I'm still not sure of what we are and are not alowed to do, and I don't want to take the chance of getting banned. I have tried paid to click sites, my facebook, and I've even tried making a website, but it just didn't make any sense to me how to get people to look at my site. I keep reading some of your posts and it has helped me out more than anything yet. I have heard a lot about your youtube videos. I haven't had a chance to check them out yet, but I am definitely going to. I like it's great that you share with other members how to do this and just wanted to say thank you! :)

I guess I just can't keep my big mouth shut, but I don't think I have EVER had a referral join from Facebook or Twitter. Yet I have almost 800 of them, go figure  :dontknow:

Pay them.  Recently I have been signing up with a lot of task sites.  These sites pay you to do simple tasks like like a facebook page, make a forum post and even get paid to sign up for sites. Yesterday I put up a task on mylot to sign up for Fusion Cash.  I paid .05 to complete the task (+ another incentive if they complete an offer).

They signed up I got a dollar and paid them .05.  I took my earnings I made from that site to use it to fund my tasks.  I will do this with other task sites like Microworkers, Minuteworkers and other such sites.  You can choose how much you want to pay.  It can be as little as .01 to however much you want.  There is an extra cost so to pay a .01 task will actually cost you .02.

This is my newest way of getting referrals.  Before I stuck to free or other low cost methods like blogs, my own website, PTC ads, classified ads, etc.

Is paying for referrals allowed? Referral gathering is a never ending quest and a topic that will always be open.

I found a few after signing up for twitter here. Waiting out my month to get the 25c. 2 people signed up for fusion. However, they havent figured it out yet because they are not giving me the 1 and 2 dollar bonus yet so I dont know how they signed up as a referral if no bonus was paid. I think Im going to find old buddy on youtube.

If they do nothing after they sign up, you don't get any bonus. They need to be active enough to verify their account and complete an offer before you make the $3.

Just be aware that once they get your half a cent, you will never see them again. It's hard enough to keep referrals active when they have good intentions. What you are doing is fishing for 95 cent commissions and you can make a lot more than 95 cents with a better product for the same effort.

I never see them again anyway.  None of my referrals are active.  This is the case with all of the programs I do.  I don't rely on referrals to help me because they just aren't active.  You can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink no matter how many emails I send encouraging them to become and stay active you just can't make them so I will take my dollar or two and pay a .01-.05 and keep on moving.
The key is to build a relationship with them BEFORE they sign up, then you have a chance. I get from 3 to 15 of my referrals providing me $5 for a cashout bonus every month.

I think a relationship with your referrals is important as long as you can keep up with them so you can built a relationship communication is key. Most of my referels are not active so it is hard to talk nor anything I thing you just have to keep trying so you have really really a lot and that evens out the ones that are not active some people get this and some do not it is difficult to try to motivate them if you can not keep up with them

As many as you can refer, I have almost 800 and I am not the leader in that department.
