Bible Verse of the day:  "When arguing with fools, don't answer their foolish arguments, or you will become as foolish as they are." Proverbs 26:4 (The Book)
Amen!

This summarizes the failure of xtians to produce any cognizant argument for their foolish religious beliefs; there aren't any valid arguments for such irrational self-deceptions.

“You can not convince a believer of anything; for their belief is not based on evidence, it is based on a deep-seated need to believe.”
-– Carl Sagan

That's an unsubstantiated religious belief/false attribution.

“Faith: Belief without evidence in what is told by one who speaks without knowledge, of things without parallel.”

That's the typical answer I knew I would receive back.  You will not admit to anything that looks like ...

Your contentions are false, not because 'I say so' but due to the lack of evidentiary support for them.  Simply claiming something, (such as to have "reversed" a metaphor without actually doing so), constitutes a false claim such as you continue to do.  Such claims fall flat and having to point that out to the claimant reveals more about the false claimant than one challenging such false claims.
And you, my opposing poster, are grasping at a comeback and are going in circles around yourself, lol.

It's a Bible daily verse thread - people are sharing verses with each other, who enjoy doing so.  You are the one trying to make something argumentative out of it.  Fail...

I don't have to look that up.  Besides, you didn't say, "Please..."

It's a religious proselytization thread which fails for many reasons.  Among them, the failure of xtians to produce any cognizant argument for their foolish religious beliefs; there aren't any valid arguments for such irrational self-deceptions.

“Faith is the great cop-out, the great excuse to evade the need to think and evaluate evidence. Faith is belief in spite of, even perhaps because of, the lack of evidence.”

You are only repeating yourself.  It's only foolish to those who perceive it as foolish.  For others it's not foolish.  Your opinion is yours, which we have definitely heard over and over and over....

Irrationality is not simply a matter of 'perception', (unless everything is).  You are certainly free to hold an irrational religious belief; why object to the accurate description since there's no way to characterize it as "rational"?

That would be so only if you find belief without evidence, (and in spite of a lack of evidence), to be "beautiful".  Frankly, I find it to be a
self-delusional practice engaged in by those unfamiliar with an ability to reason accurately.

“They say Jerusalem is proof Jesus walked on earth. I say the Empire building is proof King Kong scaled it."

Then serve neither and walk on your own two feet.

"The Bible as we have it contains elements that are scientifically incorrect or even morally repugnant. No amount of
'explaining away' can convince us that such passages are the product of Divine Wisdom."
