It's always nice to have an on-going post on the bible.
I've always enjoyed Romans 5:8, "Love" (Look it up  ;D)

Why not just look it up yourself instead of posting these proselytizations?  Oh, that's right, you 'thumpers couldn't attempt to spread that religious mind-virus unless you propangandized it incessently.  How rude.

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:1  I learned this at a very early age.

No, you were indoctrinated with such unsubstantiated supertitious beliefs at an early age.  There is exactly zero evidence to support such religious claims. This is why brainwashing young children with religious mind-virii is an insidious proselytizing of blind faith in minds too young and undiscerning to reject the b.s. outright.

2 John 1:7-8

I say this because many deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh, have gone out into the world. Any such person is the deceiver and the antichrist. Watch out that you do not lose what we have worked for, but that you may be rewarded fully.

That's quite a few potential "anti-xrists", including the xtians who deceive with superstiterstious, unsubstantiated religious nonsense.

The cross was a pagan origin that was worshipped in Egypt years before Jesus was born.

Today it serves as a good luck charm for many.It is considered an idol that is worshipped and is against Gods law.

Consider this,if a loved one of yours got killed by a gun would you wear a replica of it around your neck?

Sorry, but I've got to jump in on this one.Jesus was indeed Crucified on a cross. Not only is that historically accurate for the Romans method of execution, but the Bible itself tells us in several places this is so:

John 19:16-17 So the soldiers took charge of Jesus. Carrying his own cross, he went out to the place of the Skull (which in Aramaic is called Golgotha).

John 20:25 (Thomas said) “Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.”

Matthew 27:37“And they put up over His head the accusation written against Him: THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS.”

John 21:18 (Jesus told Peter)When you are old you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will dress you and lead you where you do not want to go.” Jesus said this to indicate the kind of death by which Peter would glorify God.

Philippians 3:18-19“For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: whose end is destruction…”

And by the way,the cross is a sign of Victory, not defeat. For it was upon the cross that Christ won Salvation for all Mankind. :notworthy:

Well said, and great verses!

Actually, it was merely more faith-based thumping, unsupported by any factual basis, (relying upon self-referential belief in faith in belief, etc.).
The inverse of specious religious verses is non-specious reasoning.

From Mathew chaptor 2 you can read about how King Herod wants the astrologers to report back to him about baby Jesus and when they dont he kills all the 2 yr olds in the land.

Just thought id put that up so no one thinks i made that up with all you biblical scholars.
I'm not responding to this thing of yours because you are only posting your biased parts that you want to be seen.  I'd be glad to discuss it more in length if you are willing to include the whole parts, including the why, how, reasons, and what eventually happened with this.  Do you even support the New Testament, or just portions?

Alaric....anyone that makes a comment "god should serve me" is beyond being selfishness as far as i am concerned.

I am not gonna get into the bit with the cross or the stake either. Its obvious the cross is used as a good luck charm today or are you all that blind?Like i said earlier,if your loved one got killed by a gun would you carry a replica of a gun around your neck?

Jcribb do you celebrate Xmas?Amazing how many turn to the scene when Jesus was a baby in Bethlehem and they talk about 3 wise men <astrologers>who were to report back to King Herod where the child was and when they didnt Herod killed all the 2 yr olds in the land.Such a happy event as we know of xmas.Or would anyone like to know the scripture?Plus 12/25 another pagan day and not anything in bible regarding Jesus saying remember his birth but only his death.

The bible is a 2 edged sword. It explains truth to those with a good heart and gives them discernment and understanding and to those that dislike it or only want it to be what they want it to mean...theyd be better off buying a comic book.

Yeah, god should be serving me.  Although I don't believe that there is some superior being, if there were such an entity then, logically, he/she/it should be serving me, or, more accurately, taking care of me as his/her/it's less than infant foundling.  hitch, I know this will be much too complex for your level of understanding, don't confuse yourself in trying to understand this logical point, you'll only give yourself another headache.

**Now you're getting into a shotgun scene where you're thrashing out at everybody, even your own supposed fellow christians.  But of course, you're not really a christian, you're a jehovah's witless, a fanatical branch sect of christianity.  Good luck to you in converting anyone else around here to your moronic, infantile religious beliefs.
**You are right - thank you for pointing this out.

Before another 'how-many-angels-can-dance-upon-the-head-of-a pin' irrelevant argument ensues, I just wanted to make the observation that fundamentalism of 'trailer-hitch' is making "jcribb16" look nearly like a liberal xtian.
