Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen-Hebrew 11:1

Apparently, whomever scribbled down that little gem had some dim awareness that "faith" has no more substance than 'hope', ("to want or expect something; to have a wish to get or do something or for something to happen or be true ... the emotional state which promotes the belief in a positive outcome ...").  Wishful-thinking, in other words, which has no "substance" and is an intangible belief.

So?  For you, that's fine, not an issue.  For others, it's fine and not an issue with them, either.  You go your way and they go theirs, right?  No problems for either, for now, right?  :)

We have been going our own separate ways for some time now.  Religious adherents have been initiating proselytizing public posts and others have been opposing such propaganda.  Doubtless this will continue as long as we are going our own ways and not allowing opposing viewpoints to be suppressed by xtian would-be censors.
No one is censoring anyone.  The key word is respect of other people's beliefs, thoughts, views, and opinions.

I'd written 'would-be', as in failed attempts to censor, (not that these attempts succeeded).

The key word is respect of other people's beliefs, thoughts, views, and opinions.

Indeed?  Cannibals believe it's okay to eat other people; I find myself unable to respect their beliefs, (or to sit in a cauldron just because they redefined it as a "hot tub").
One can lead a horse to water however, if one holds the horse's head under, that horse will drown.

Lol, you are just humorous.  We aren't speaking of cannibals, now, are we?  We are speaking in a forum, on the subject of Bible verses in a thread.  You know, as well as anyone else, that my comment was related to the "respect" in this thread of posters posting Bible verses.  Nice try, though...

Considering that catholics have this ritual where they eat a wafer, (sympathetic magic for "body of xrist"), and drink wine, (sympathetic magic for "blood of xrist"), I'd say that constitutes symbolic cannibalism.

Nice try again...  We are speaking of posters sharing Bible verses in this particular thread, in which respect is a main key.  We are NOT speaking of Catholic rituals in this particular thread, nor are we speaking of cannibalism, symbolic or otherwise.

We are speaking of posters sharing Bible verses in this particular thread, in which respect is a main key.  We are NOT speaking of Catholic rituals in this particular thread, nor are we speaking of cannibalism, symbolic or otherwise.

The subject matter concerns specious xtian rituals, (such as those intercessory "prayer" or "communion" rituals).  You don't get to dictate the content of posts nor restrict replies to just 'babble-thumping' ones.  That's what's meant by attempts to implicitly censor.

It's not surprising that some xtians would rather avoid discussing their religion's basis in 'magical wishful thinking', (especially the symbolic cannibalism bits).
One can lead a horse to water however, if one holds the horse's head under, that horse will drown.

You are the one trying to "dictate" and add more to this than what is happening.  This is a Bible verse thread.  No more, no less.  We are not speaking of Christian "rituals" - we are only sharing Bible verses.  You can put into what you wish, but you are making a mountain out of a molehill here.  You care nothing whatsoever for the verses - fine, that is your choice.  No one is bothering you - you are the one entering in here all by yourself, just to make an issue of something that has nothing to do with you and is allowed to be posted.  Still a nice try, but you are just not cutting it for anyone in here who is sharing verses with each other who enjoys reading and sharing.

You are the one trying to "dictate" and add more to this than what is happening.

Anyone on FC can add whatever comments or remarks they wish to a thread's discussion, (within FC's TOS). I'm not the one "dictating" that this is only a "bible verses" thread - you are.

This is a Bible verse thread.  No more, no less.

See?  You've just attempted to "dictate" restrictions to this thread.  Unfortunately, all you can do is attempt such, rather than actually dictate it.

We are not speaking of Christian "rituals" - we are only sharing Bible verses.

The repetition of xtian "scriptures" is a form of rote.  Rote is a form of ritual.  Therefore, the repetition of "bible verses" is a ritual, (or rote), practice and my replies directly related contextually to this thread.

You can put into what you wish, but you are making a mountain out of a molehill here.

Conversely, the use of a specious document of superstitious beliefs as a basis for such superstitious religious beliefs constitutes an attempt to make a proselytizing mountain out of a blind faith molehill.

No one is bothering you - you are the one entering in here all by yourself...

On the contrary, religious proselytizing is "bothering" and I'm not in this thread alone dissenting since you and other blind-faithers are also "here" posting religious propaganda.

You are the one trying to stomp the Bible verse threads into non-existence.  They are allowed.  You don't like them.  That's your choice.  You choose to come into them knowing what they are.  You do not have to come into something you don't like.  But you do anyway for the purpose of agitating.  It's not going to stop people from posting things they enjoy - whether they are Bible verses, jokes, serious subjects, witty subjects, etc.  You keep coming in disrespecting and you are expecting "dissenting" views right back at you.  You are only harassing and it's very clear to everyone who posts in here.
