This is a change from being under the Mosaic Law to now being in a new union with Christ.  This now would include spiritual and social relationships.  Being in union with Him means 'faith' in Christ (v. 26,) 'baptized' in Christ (v. 27,) 'clothed' in Christ (v. 27,) 'one' in Christ (v. 28,) and 'heir' (belonging to) Christ.

O God! Refresh and gladden my spirit. Purify my heart. Illumine my powers.
I lay all my affairs in Thy hand. Thou art my Guide and my Refuge. I will no longer be sorrowful and grieved; I will be a happy and joyful being.
