Just something to let know!!!
« on: July 29, 2011, 08:43:04 am »
First of all this has nothing to do with anything here on FC.  I wanted to let everyone know of another mail scam that is happening that I actually received yesterday.  I got home and checked it out on the internet by typing in its name and city and zipcode.  I figured it was to good to be true so I was skeptical seeing how I didn't enter into anything from them.  It doesn't state that I won but it implies it.  I susposely am to receive a camera with all its accessories only after I send them $13.78 + $3 S/H

Name says DMI (Central Clearing House in Texas)  Don't fall for it.  Ripoffreport from internet has all kind of info on this company and many more.

One other thing to let all girls, women, ladies, and possible even the guys know I got from a friend in email yesterday from a family that is a police officer sent to her.  Here's what it said:

Police Warning - Serious matter Things are getting out of hand!  People are getting desperate to do others harm!

If you are a female, take heed! If you are male and have a significant female in your life who you care about, whether it's your wife, your girlfriend, your daughter, your sister, your niece, your cousin, your next door neighbor; whomever..............pass this along! Always, "Better safe than sorry!"

A man came over and offered his services as a painter to a female putting gas in her car and left his card. She said no, but accepted his card out of  courtesy and got in her car. The man then got into a car driven by another gentleman. As the lady left the service station, she saw the men following her out of the station at the same time. Almost immediately, she started to feel dizzy and could not catch her breath.  She tried to open the window and realized that the odor was on her hand; the same hand which accepted the card from the gentleman at the gas station. She then noticed the men were immediately behind her and she felt she needed to do something at that moment. She drove into the first driveway and began to honk her horn repeatedly to ask for help. The men drove away but the lady still felt pretty bad for several minutes after she could finally catch her breath. Apparently, there was a substance on the card that could have seriously injured her.

This drug is called 'BURUNDANGA' and it is used by people who wish to incapacitate a victim in order to steal from or take advantage of them. This drug is four times more dangerous than the date rape drug and is transferable on simple cards. So take heed and make sure you don't accept cards at any given time you are alone or from someone on the streets. This applies to those making house calls and slipping you a card when they offer their services.

PLEASE SEND THIS E-MAIL ALERT TO EVERY FEMALE YOU KNOW!!!!

This is a completely bogus story and has been going around since 2008! Here is a link from Snopes, the site that exposes hoaxes and also real 'rumors', and is is not true, period. I have received this about 10 times in e-mails and it appears to be going around again. ::)

(Of course, no one will bother looking at the link and this thread will continue to grow with more being added no doubt...)

thank you :notworthy:

I'm not sure which one of us you're thanking, but if it's me, you are very welcome. ;) I try to quash things l see come up that I know are not 'real' because they tend to take on a life of their own and before you know it, there's pages of replies. There are enough things in this world that are 'scary' and true. I don't think we need to add even more that are myths.

my brother in law got something simular to this but it was about hijacking female cars or something I am not sure but I told him we didn't have to worry about this around here becuse we live in such a small town the hijackers will stay in the bigger cities and I don't have anything worth hijacking.  I don't pay attion to everything I get in my email or see on the web because you don't know if its true or not and I just take precautions anyways so I would not end up in a situation like that I keep my doors locks and windows rolled up, or I simple take my husband with me so I am not alone or his brother that way I am safe
