South Beach Diet Free Trial Offer
« on: July 28, 2011, 04:49:12 pm »
The requirements to receive credit for this offer says to "Place an Order."

Does that mean placing an order by simply signing up for the 7-day free trial with a valid card or does it mean placing an order by signing up for the 7-day free trial with a valid card and staying a member past the 7-day free trial??

I dont know but $18.00 sounds good. I got $8.00 from Netflix today that was cool and I see as many movies as I want for free for a whole month.

It's instant for signing up, but I'm not sure if they revoke it if you cancel by the end of the trial.  I'm trying to lose weight myself, about 25 pounds.  I was told by the Navy that I have to lose weight to get in.  They say I only have to lose 10 pounds which would put me at 210, but I was 200 pounds 4 years ago for my wedding and I was in great shape with no gut.  It would be nice to lose the weight so I'll give them a shot and see what tips they have.  It is 65 dollars charge every 13 weeks, quarterly, if you don't cancel.  I've heard good things about this company and it's obviously famous so I'll see what they have to offer.  I'd like to look good for the wife more than anything. :)

I feel I should mention that if you want to cancel within the 7 day trial you have to call their customer service.  This makes it a little more unpleasant most likely than just clicking unsubscribe at the bottom of the page like most offers.  As far as the site itself it is nicely laid out with a lot of information and a forum for talking to others about weight loss goals and the like.  I didn't realize that South Beach plan involved no or little carbs, this is a lot like the Atkins Diet where you only eat meat and no bread, pasta, et cetera.

I have trouble following any type of diet.  It is really all about changing your habits, a few years ago I was down to an acceptable weight, then I began partying and drinking a certain spiked tea, tried to keep up eating with the new teen boys in my life and fell back into some bad habits.  Now I need to get back on track because I gained a lot of weight back and my blood pressure has gone back up.  It sucks to get old.

I checked my card and nothing has been billed to it.  It says you can cancel anytime during the 7 day free trial though to be on the safe side you probably should cancel before the final day if you are unsatisfied.  I don't personally endorse signing up for anything if your not really interested in the first place.  That's not to say that you should stay with an offer if you aren't completely satisfied with the product/service.

I checked mine and it says a dollar has been added. So when I call and do cancel if I am unsatisfied I will make sure they credit that dollar back. I read the terms and conditions very carefully and nowhere does it say anything about you will charged a dollar.

They were probably testing your card to see if it was valid and/or had available funds to be withdrawn.  I have no doubt they will withdraw the one dollar charged as I have had a different card charged in this manner in the past during a trial subscription.

Charging a $1.00 is a common practice for many companies when signing up for a service, trial, or purchase.  They do it to make sure the card you're providing is valid.  Upon canceling they should debit back the $1.00, or if you stay with them, either take $1.00 off the amount they will charge you going forward, or debit the $1.00 and then charge you the regular membership/purchase price.
