Jobs?
« on: July 28, 2011, 10:29:44 am »
I was just wondering if any one knew of any good jobs out there.  My husband and I are in a really tough situation right now.  He lost his job months ago and hasn't been able to find a good paying job.  We had to leave our home cause we couldn't pay the electric bill.  It's really hard on our boys.  They just want to go home.  I've been out of work for almost 4 years, ever since my first boy was born.  When I tried to go back, the job i was trying to apply for said that it will be hard for me to get a job cause of the gap in my work history.  My husband still doesn't want me to get a job, but now cause of our situation, he has no say so in the matter.  I'm a little lost.   :dontknow:

Walmart is a really good place to work. I worked there about 10 years ago and was there for 5 years, I hear the pay is so much better than it was years ago. I started out as a cashier, then a customer service manager than i ended up in the cash office. The only reason I left was because i was working so many hrs and my hours were always different i didn't see my family much but i loved it. I got an 8-5 job now weekends off  :). I know how hard it is to find a job believe me i've been there. Good luck in your job seeking :)

I can relate. I am a single mom. I went back to work part time when I got divorced. ( I was a stay at home mom). I was a teacher for 12 years and went back as a substitute while I still had one child at home.  I am not working right now and trying to find a job. The school system where I live and used to work had major budget problems and a lot of teachers and staff lost their jobs.  The only income I have is my child support. I quit my job when my 2nd child was born, I had them a  year apart.  Even though it has been a struggle, I am glad I got to spend the time with them while they were at home. They both will be starting school this year! I'm going to keep trying and praying to find a job so I can get back on my feet. I wish anyone the same thing that is struggling with this as well!

I haven't even been out of work a year and the gap is already a big issue. Wish I had something better to offer you!

Well, I lived in a small town in Woodville, TX but because of our electricity getting cut off I had to go to Houston and stay with my mom.  Not sure how much longer we can take it.  Not much room with me and my two kids and my husband and my mom living under the same roof.  Very tough on my oldest.  He tells me every day if we can go home.  He misses his bike and toys.  It breaks my heart every time I have to tell him that we can't go home right now.   :'(
