netflix or blockbuster?

I would drop netflix in a heartbeat if Blockbuster would start streaming movies through the wii .... maybe one day they will realize how much more business they would have if they would offer that service!

I prefer Redbox. It's a one dollar rental operation. You rent up to 5 movies and they're each just a dollar. You can keep them until 9:00 the next night no matter what time of day you get them. For every day extra you keep them it's just an extra dollar. I think blockbuster has the same thing. I've seen the machines for it.

I heard recently that Netflix jumped up their monthly rates.  I have thought about getting Netflix in the past, but just can't seem to justify spending the money every month when we don't really have that much time to watch movies,,,not sure it would be worthwhile.

Netflix because of the shipping of movies and the streaming. Tried Blockbuster for awhile, took to long to get the movies in the mail!

I tried Netflix because I got paid to do it but I find it very disappointing.  I had hoped to be able to get the same movies as are available with redbox but it seems to me that they are all very old.  I just got the streaming account.  I'm not much interested in movies by mail.

I've had both for a while and have definitely used netflix more, especially lately. It's easier for me and my boyfriend to just set up the list of what we want to see and then watch it at my our leisure. There are a lot of instant movies to watch too so you don't even have to wait.

First of all I am amazed that Blockbuster isn't bankrupt yet.  The overhead for all of their brick and mortar stores and stiff competition has wiped out virtually every local video rental store.  I had Blockbuster online a few years ago at the same time as Netflix for the purposes of comparing.  Blockbuster was always slower in getting my dvds to me, just a day longer, but slower nonetheless.  Netflix used to have more movies, but by a slim margin.  I'm sure the difference between the two now is negligible.  What it comes down to for me is that Blockbuster doesn't have streaming and Netflix does.  Everyone is in uproar about the Netflix price hike, but I understand the economics and can't blame them.  That is the product of inflation and a business has to ask for more money when the dollar loses value.  As it is Netflix's cheapest plan of streaming only is 2 bucks less than Blockbuster's cheapest mail delivery.
