why are children becoming out of control

it really is about the parents.  not all but a lot spend more time concerned with keeping up with the joneses that they miss out on most of their kids lives.  its easier these days to throw a kid on ritalin or some other drug and keep them quiet than to actually raise them.  really sad when you think of how great kids turn out when all you have to do is pay them attention once in awhile.

My son is actually on a form of ritalin. We took the long road to get there. I didn't want to have him on meds for the rest of his life. The decision to put him on it was based on helping him more at school. We changed his diet, went the natural road, which did help. From personal experience, it has helped him quite a bit. But yes, more kids are being put on ritalin when they don't need to be. It is unfortunately being used too much these days.

We threw out the prayer in school. We have stopped taking them to church. We have stopped home Bible study and reading. We have stopped disciplining them. Most of them are on drugs, and many times prescribed by their doctor. The parents set terrible examples for them!! They spend hours watching violent TV and movies and more time playing violent video Games!!

Not enough parenting and spanking and to much technology and no old fashion researching.

Children have always been out of control. There was a period of time in the 1950s where it didn't seem that way but that was because TV made it seem that way. Parents of today forget very fast what it was like when they where kids. GROW UP and I am not talking about the children either.

I agree with others on here that it is lack of punishment in parenting. Parents have to take responsibility and control their kids. Yes it is harder now than in the past because of technological advances, but that should not be an excuse. Punish the children and make them see what is right and what is wrong. Of course there may always be extreme cases, but for the most part this will help!
