Good riddance.  We need the money here on earth a lot more than in space.  I don't even believe the moon landing was real anyway but that's another topic.  We have more pressing issues right now to think about than what's in space.  Put it on hold for now and when we can do better with the economy and environment and other issues and have more of our ducks in a row then think about reviving the program at a later time.

Yes it is an end to the era of the space shuttle and it is like any other mode of transportation it served well for it's time but the time has come to develope and put something better, faster, and cheaper in place.  Who knows maybe we will see the comercilization of space just like we saw the comercilization of the other modes of transportation like the railroads, ships, airplanes, and so on.  Just have to remeber that every trip starts with that first step and the shuttle programs has been one of many steps as we reach out and explore.

Much of the innovation over the past 50 years has been due to the space program.  I don't see how we'll be better off without it unless our goal is to become a third world county.

 Succinct, but sad.

Well look at it this way. Yes it is sad. But maybe at least now it will take us a little longer in finding another planet to mess up.

It's sad because a lot of people probably have nice memories about spaceship launches.  It's like losing a part of you.

we were spending alot of money on this, we cannot even afford to feed our children. God already told us everything we need to know, if we would listen.
