I have a nine year old Bichon Frise.  He thinks he is human.  Probably because we treat him like he is.

I had a 9-year-old poodle whom I just had euthanized because he had gone blind and was disoriented and senile. He got a tummy ailment and it was time. It was tough.

2 dogs, a cat and a horse.  
     The dogs are funny, they understand alot of words so I've repeatedly asked the yellow lab "are you a little girl"?   She won't look very happy.  So then I'll ask her, "are you a dog"?  She'll perk up and seem perfectly  happy.  My other dog is a black & white lab/pit mix.  I'll ask her "are you a little girl"?  She'll act all happy and "chatter" away.  Then I'll ask her if she's a "dog"...she'll get all quiet and look at me like "nooo".  They both have the same reactions every single time, it's so funny.  
     The cat is a smart little guy, he never runs out of things to do to amuse us all and he knows he's special...he has a "smug & saucy" look on his face 95% of the time.
     They break our hearts when they have to leave us, but life just wouldn't be the same without them.

I've got a 6 yr old  named Tiger that has never answered when you say "here kitty kitty".  We found him in our front lawn when he was around 6 weeks ok, the mother had abandoned him, now he thinks he owns the house. (which he pretty much does lol)

My condolences.  It's like losing a family member.  Tommy has had his share of ailments.  He has cataracs in his left eye and has gone blind in his right eye from a cat scratch to the retina two years ago.  I just couldn't stand the thought of sewing his eye up so he has a prosthetic eye now.  MedVet in Columbus is absolutely wonderful.  I had never heard about the procedure they did when our options were explained.  I had assumed it would be like a glass eye that would be removable but that wasn't the case at all.  He still actually has his eyeball but the insides have been replaced with silicone.  Most people don't notice it as being artificial.  The procedure definitely but a nick in our budget but I received so much grief from the family that I decided I didn't really need to go to Disney World for my 50th birthday after all.  Sometimes you wonder, though, when to stop.  He will eventually need surgery on his left eye that will cost as much as if I was having it done.  Decisions.....

My girlfriend's got a cockatiel and a conure, so they're kind of mine too.  Ridiculous birds, but I love 'em.

I have a beautiful black, brown and white calico female cat (I don't know what bred she is) and she will be 3 years old this August.

We have 4 cats with very unique personalities. Two of them were litter mates and two of them were strays. All of them are great, well behaved (for cats) and healthy. Not sure why but I just prefer cats to dogs, not that dogs are bad

We've always had dogs in the house. We currently have 3 dogs and a duck. The duck has so much personality, she thinks she's a human too.

I have a cat who just turned 16. She's going for her drivers license next week.

I don't currently have a pet but I grew up with dogs.
I had an english setter, a black lab and a chocolate lab. Each one had their own personality and was very loving and loyal. I miss them1
My brothers has 2 dogs which is great for his kids and for me!
