Cancelling *bleep* phone service for Magic Jack
« on: July 03, 2011, 11:00:55 am »
I'm cancelling my *bleep* Communications phone line on Monday and will be purchasing Magic Jack.  I use my cell phone much more often the home line and I'm tired of paying 30 bucks a month when the Magic Jack is only 40 bucks for the unit and first year of service, only 20 bucks a year for subsequent years.  Figure it's worth a shot.  Nearly 400 dollars a year vs 20 dollars.  Anyone else tried this, checked the internet for reviews and they are mostly positive.

I've never heard of Magic Jack but lets be honest if it sounds to good to be true it probably is.  $400 a year vs $20 a year.   really??  seems to have scam written all over it.

I thought Magic Jack only works if both the sender AND the receiver have the adapter installed.  If indeed that's the case, you would only be able to talk to other Magic Jack users.  I'm too lazy to Google it, but I'd definitely check it out before you cancel your other phone service.  Good luck.

It's legit.  I did my research on this and as long as you have a fast internet connection you won't have any problems.  It really does seem to good to be true, but it's the real deal with few compromises.  You have to dial the area code whenever your call a number regardless of local or long distance and you can only call or receive calls while your internet is running.  Perfect call clarity and it shows up on your computer when someone is calling with their phone number.  Free 411, 3 way calling, caller id, long distance to U.S and Canada free! 8)  I am very satisfied so far. :)  My home phone bill was always changing with *bleep* and every now and then it was significantly higher with strange charges/fees and unknown long distance calls placed.  No more!  Phone companies can charge what they want as they don't have enough large competition.  Same goes for diamonds for example.  Diamonds are less rare most precious and non-precious jems, but Debeers owns/controls 80% of the world's diamond mines so there is an artificially created market.  In other words they charge what they want with little fear of being under sold.
