« on: June 30, 2011, 06:14:36 am »
I cook for my family every night and I'm not talking about hamburger helper lol. I don't work so I have time to and I know not everyone does. So how often do you make a homemade meal? What's your favs?
One of my kid's favorites is homemade pizza. If anyone wants my recipe let me know
It only cost @5.00 for me to make an XL pizza n its loaded down.

I cook at home most nights a full meal. There are nights where I might reheat left overs or homemade soup. Luckily, I have the time since I don't work. Cooking at home also helps me stay healthy since I have celiac which means NO GLUTEN ALLOWED. Sometimes ordering a meal at a restaurant can be a hassle. I also have to worry about cross contamination.  It's easier if I can find a menu online that can help. There are several restaurants with a gluten free menu either there or online. Some are Chilis, Pei Wei, and Outback Steakhouse.

Pretty much every night. Some nights are simple but one weekends I go all out.

I cook almost every night. I live alone so sometimes it's just a salad or something simple. I've learned to get back to basics and eat healthier so that means cooking from scratch without all the preprocessed foods now a days for the busy on the go family. I try to eat a lot of fruits and veggies for dinner as that is the last meal of the day and can be very heavy on your stomach before bedtime. If I'm just craving something before bed, something a half slice of watermelon will not keep your stomach digesting for hours after you have fallen asleep.

I found something out just lately quite by accident. I've been bothered with some acid reflux, and watermelon is good for that, and will not further upset your intestinal tract.

I usually only cook at home when I am broke!  I discovered this thing called an oven the other day.   Here I thought it was another pantry.   Hmmmmmmm.

I have a great wife, but when it comes to cooking the stereotype doesn't work for her.  She apparently never learned how to cook from her mother and neither did I.  Both of us try to experiment in the kitchen, but the results are lackluster more often than not.  I need to get a cook book and surprise my family with something awesome.
