Do you play a musical instrument?

i started playing the piano when i was about 2-3 years old
in high school/middle school I played the clarinet, trumpet, french horn and bassoon...

it's been a long time since I've played anything though so I don't want to say I currently play anything!

I played a flute in grade school and taught myself to play piano and key board.

Is tapping a spoon against the side of a beer bottle or water glass considered a musical instrument?  I didn't think so.  How about whistling?  Nope, I figured as much.  I guess I'll have to answer a resounding "no"... (although I can blow on a harmonica and make noises come out of it).

I used to play saxophone: soprano, alto, tenor and baritone.  I was in all state band/orchestra/jazz band and played professionally.  The tenor saxophone that I played was originally my fathers and, in what was a strike against my mother for leaving him, he took it back in my Junior year of high school.  I never played again.  I encourage my children to play and sing and pay for several sets of lessons for each and am treated everytime I go to their recitals.  I haven't spoken to my father since he took back the instrument.

I took lessons for piano when I was little and just didn't have the patients for it.  My sister stuck with it, and now that I'm older I wish I could play like her.

So far, I know how to play bass guitar, guitar, requinto (Spanish guitar 1/4 smaller than regular guitar), and a little bit of piano I plan on learning how to play more exotic instruments from all over the world. I encourage you all to learn as well.

I play the guitar and to be honest, I'm not that good at it. I used to think playing an electric guitar would be easier than a acoustic, but in the end they have the same learning curve.
