after my surgery, it took me 3 or 4 days before i could lie on my back again, because every time i would try, it felt like i was pulling stitches and pulling muscles or something.

My mother and 2 of my sisters had a hysterectomy. All 3 of them are doing awesome! The recovery was not that bad for any of them, just some pain/discomfort until they got back on their feet from resting. Good luck with your surgery!

My mom had one soon after I was born because they were worried that she might get fibroids.  They left her ovaries and put her on "hormone tablets", until she got breast cancer seventeen years later.  She had had a rough time with what we now call para menopause.  She should have been put on progesterone instead of estrogen.  Getting out of balance like that is insanity.  I know, I experienced it myself.

Personally I'd seek natural, alternative treatments and leave all my organs in tack.  I was just reading about prolapse (mom had it bad) and how when they take out the organs everything else settles unnaturally.  I can't remember which natural health expert said it but I love the quote that "We don't get sick because of an excess of organs or a lack of drugs."

You have to do what is right for you.  Trust your intuition.  I'll send you some reiki.  Good luck.
