To Abort or Not to Abort a pregnancy
« on: June 26, 2011, 09:21:34 am »
Women believe there are many reasons to abort such as fear of having or raising a child, rape, or not having enough money. But whatever the situation, there is never an acceptable reason to get an abortion. Some important reasons why women should not abort have to do with human values, religious values, and values of conscience.

The first reason why women should not have an abortion is related to basic human values. Women need to think about their unborn babies who are not responsible for this situation. These unborn babies should have the privilege to live and grow into a normal person. Women need to be more humanitarian and less egoistic with these babies. On the other hand, the baby doesn’t know how or why he is here. It is not necessary to kill a life; there are many other solutions to resolve this problem short of abortion.

The second reason why women should not abort has to do with religious values. In almost all religions, a woman is not permitted to have an abortion. If they do, their religions will punish them. In some religions, for example, a woman cannot take communion after having an abortion, and before taking communion again, she must do many things as a form of penitence. In whatever religion, abortion is punished and for this reason, women should not abort.

Finally, the third and most important reason why women should not abort is the related to her conscience. When a woman has an abortion, she will always think about the baby she might have had. She will always think about the future that could have happened with her baby which will always remind her that she killed it. Because she has had an abortion, she will never have a good life, and her conscience will remind her of what she had done. Because a woman who has an abortion can’t forget about what she has done, these thoughts will always be with her, and the results can be calamitous.  :angel11:

Don't claim to know all religions.  My religion claims that the people who are already born hold precedence, and if the woman's life is in danger or if she has other children, she must think of that before she determines whether to complete a pregnancy.  My rabbi held my hand before I had my D&C due to a missed miscarriage.  Translation: my child was not alive/growing/without a heartbeat, yet my body did not pass it naturally, and I had it removed to save my life.  This falls under your religious dogma up there.

One person's self-righteous beliefs do not dictate all people's actions.

Including men like Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden?  What about Adolf Hitler?  Leopold and Loeb?  What about the children that are already living and their mother is pregnant with a baby and will likely die should she carry out the pregnancy?

There are so many grey areas that a blanket statement like this is wrong on so many levels.

Besides, who are we to judge what is right and wrong for other people.  Even if I don't agree with someone, I try not to judge.

This is a tricky subject.  I do not like abortions but if a person is raped I can see why they may consider it.  I guess I can not really say that I would do  unless it happened to me.

I don't think abortion is right.  If it is to save the mother's life...........possibly.  Lots of grey areas that I don't have a reason to make my mind on, but for the women who go around getting themselves pregnant because they don't understand contraception or self control, they need to have consequences.  As for Suddam Hussein and all the reasons to abort unborn tyrants, that's unreasonable.  Should we nuke the entire planet Earth just so a few bad people can't exist?  What if we have been aborting all the heroes and valiant people who would have risen up against evil?

I wouldn't say this is one persons belief. Notice the grammar. She obviously plagerized this from someone else.

I personally believe that live begins at conception no matter how it happened, and I personally could never get an abortion.  Now if the baby is dead while carring than its no longer alive that I would have it removed.  Children are a gift and I personally want to have another child and can't for some reason the doctors say I can but I have not and I have been married for ten years, so if you can't raise the child for any reason there are people out their who can't have children that would be happy to adopt so they to can have a family.  To me this is a touchy subject becuase it women think it is there given right to decide and they are right considering god gave us free will, but I have heard of people re-gretting having an abortation and it haughts them for a long time.  This is a decison that really needs thought by the women considering abortion.

This is not true for everyone.

lol.  So not true.

What does one have to do with another?  This is such a ridiculous argument and makes absolutely no sense.  If they really wanted a baby there are millions of unwanted kids already just waiting to be adopted.  What does one woman's abortion have anything to do with a couple that can't have kids? Nothing.  That's like saying because I have alopecia no one else should ever cut their hair.

Rape is reasonable or if the mother has health issues that aren't going to allow her to give birth is reasonable. Other wise I am 100% against abortions. I think not having the money is a BS answer, A. There are programs to help you with diapers, food, etc and B. There is always adoption if you really think you can't afford having the kid and adopt him or her out to a family/person/couple etc. who actually wants it. A BABY is a human being and abortion is murder TO ME, you have an abortion, you're killing a human being, not just a baby. If a dumb girl wants to go out there and get pregnant because she can't keep her legs closed or use her brain, the least she can do is suffer the consequences.

This is one of those "hot" topics.  So I'll sit on the fence and say either "neither" or "both"!  If you understand what I just said, give me a call: I've got some swamp land in Florida I'm trying to unload!  OK, I'll get off the fence: I think it depends on the situation and the woman (and man if she lets him help decide what to do).  I guess that makes me pro choice.  I agree that all life is sacred, but I also believe a person has a right to do what they want with his or her body.
