Guys who think they can hit their wives or girlfriends are wimps.  I was in a bad relationship for years and would get beaten by my husband for every mistake I made.  Not just that I would get beaten if the kids would get hurt because it was my fault that I wasnt watching them.  And then a miracle happened.  He fell in love with another woman and left the house.  I took advantage of the situation and changed locks and never let him back in again. I didnt have the courage to walk out on him but now I would never let anyone like him come near me.  I help other women who are in the same situation.

I don't think its right for a woman to get hit, or the children. But I would never pick a woman over a man because there is help for men who have aggressive behavor. I a big strong person in the bible it does not say God put woman with woman, or man with a man, it says God made them male and female, they will leave the mother and father and stick together as to oneness. I am sorry that happened to you but the bible also says the man is the head of the household including the wife and children, and the head of the man is Christ, and the head of Christ  is God, and I know Gods Name. PS 83:18 KJ not the newer version it has take it out, but the older version has it still in it.

Since when has defending one group of people from being harmed been more important then defending another group? All individuals, all human beings have the right to be secured in their persons unless they did something to have their rights taken away (such as hitting someone.) If people want to truly stop criminal violence they need to stop grouping individuals and realize that the only way to achieve peace is to treat all groups on the same level. This means that one must defend the rights of all individuals over the rights of certain individuals. In any discussion of rights where the main focus are a certain group of people, it undermines all other groups and makes them seem less important. If we are ever to advance beyond all the racism, sexism and general bigotry of our species then we MUST stop focuses on grouping people entirely. We're not men or women, we're not Asian, Hispanic or any other race, we're not Americans, Canadians, Africans etc., we're human beings. There is nothing that will change that.

It's never ok for a man or a woman to abuse their partner by any means! All abuse isn't physical but it all causes pain that sometimes never heals. All people aren't strong enough to leave an abusive relationship because of various reasons. However, that person must think of all of those people who truely do love them and of their well being too. Just because you feel stuck in any situation doesn't mean that you are. They are always choices and always a better way to do things. If a man or woman truely loves someone as much as they say they do, they wouldn't abuse them and make excuses for being wrong in the first place.

There is more abuse than physical abuse and I have been put through all of them.  A man that hurts a woman or children doesnt deserve to be the leader of a family and I dont believe in a God who would go for that way of thinking.  tmjdnj095 please think about what you said because you are saying that no matter what we have to put up with it because he is the head of the household.  I know women who have died because they stayed with the head of the household.  I speak to women all the time about getting free of the abuse and I will for the rest of my life.

It also says in the Bible that the husband is supposed to love his wife as Christ loves His Church, and died for Her. Nowhere does it say that he shows his love by beating her. And it says that they are "two in one flesh," not that the wife is the slave of the husband.

If your a man and you hit woman your a week looser any woman who stands for it needs serious help with insecurity problems I watched the movie ''Whats love got to do with it'' too many times thanks for waking up Tina
