16% of women say they'd trade a year of their life...
« on: June 24, 2011, 04:45:30 am »
for a perfect body (according to Cosmo) --- are you part of that 16%?

I always wish I had a perfect body.  As soon as my newborn turned 6 weeks old I started exercising.  I bounced back a lot better after my first child, but the second made my stomach look like moosh and I hope I can get back to my pre baby body eventually.  But the point is...if you would give up a year of your life why not work out?  I work out for about an hour a day.  I used to kid myself and say I didn't have time, which I think a lot of us use as an excuse...we all have time, the house was my main thing and I've come to realize if my house isn't spotless, but I worked out that day, it is worth it.  I wish I could say I'm working out to be healthier, but that's just a bonus - my main focus is to get a killer body.

I wouldn't give up a year.  Like you said, just make time for exercise.

Do you want to know the truth? Nobody is perfect! This means: No body is perfect!

I wouldn't give a year of my life for anything materially, physically, or social status. Life is too precious to give it away for something so vain as a perfect body. That's a self centered attitude.

I'm definitely not in the 16%! Maybe it's because my postbaby body is basically my high school body and so I was already used to seeing that little bit extra floating around. But I wouldn't give up a year of my life for anything as silly as that. I can't say I wouldn't give up one for anything because that it not the case....I would give up way more than a year of my life for something like saving my son from cancer or an accident in which he got really hurt.

No way! After I give birth to my second child, I am going to take advantage of the free use of the gym provided by my employeer. Right now i am 255. and depending on where i end up before I give birth will determine where I want to be when I get married. Right now I want to be about 215. thats a lose of 50 pounds. Its going to have to be reasonable seeing as I will only have 7 months to lose what I can. BUT i can do it and keep a year of my life.

As a guy I have to ask...  For the perfect body in whose eyes?  Cause, when you think about it, there is no "perfect" body, everyone would define that differently.  You may have the perfect body in one person's eyes, and another may hate it and think you're too thin or too heavy.

No way.  I have never had the "perfect" body and never will.  I will always be somewhat overweight and I am okay with that.

If I give up a year of my life for a perfect body, would I always have a perfect body no matter what I eat? That could be worth 1 year loss  :)
If I could always stay slim and fit and clear skin while eating chocolate and carbs....... O-yea

No.  I like my body the way it is.  I could use a couple more pounds and wished I didn't have the stretch marks on my butt but other than that I like my body.

A perfect body is also defined by the mesomorph body type.  Which type are you?

Mesomorph, Ectomorph or Endomorph?

Most of these perfect bodies seen on TV and in magazines are most always mesomorph body types.  As we age, they can change, of course.

It's best to do what is good for your own body type, as you can't force a non-mesomorph into a mesomorph.  Anyone can be in good shape with the proper diet and exercise.  And that also means no bad habits such as smoking, drugs, etc...

A good diet is plenty of good organic fruits and veggies.  Meats, eggs and dairy must be free of steroids, antibiotics, etc...  For instance, eggs and chicken are free range and must say on the label.

Regarding stretched out skin, that's a collagen and elastin issue.  There is supplementation for that such as colloidal minerals that contain copper.  Need at least 2mg of copper daily.  The skin will tighten.  Also selenium and tin in those minerals.  Yougevity has a good brand and so does Drucker Labs (called IntraMax and IntraMin)  You can do a search on those.  Amazon has them.  Daily copper from colloidal minerals also help in turning hair from grey back to original color.  Dr. Joel Wallach, the founder of Yougevity has brown hair, not grey.

G-5 organic silica by Orgono is good as well as Biosil.  There is LOTS online about those two silica products.  Biosil is on Amazon, and you can read the awesome customer feedback on that.  There were claims about how much skin improved after about 3 or 4 months.  Alot also said it helped their hair growth.  Just look it up on Amazon.  Most take it for bones, joints, etc... too.  We take the G-5 and already our skin is looking better.  Both of us.

Systemic Enzymes and Amino Acids are also good for the skin.  Platinum Plus Amino Acids, and Vitalzym.  Lot of companies online has those, including Amazon.

There are lasers and things to help shrink the skin itself.  Titan, Thermage, and LipoEx to name a few.  Just about every city has a MedSpa of some sort now.

Which year? lol
Would I give up living to 86 and live to 85 for a perfect body? Absolutely.
People give up years of their lives to smoking, eating bad, etc. all the time for nothing.
