How to approach people for referrals.
« on: July 08, 2008, 05:25:03 am »
Ok, so in the weeks I've been doing this I've confirmed that this is by no means a scam.  In fact, it's some really, really easy money.  So I've decided to step it up a bit and start looking for people and potentially get some cash for referrals.

But how exactly does one go about such a thing?  Admittedly, these type of sites sort of LOOK gimmicky, so right off the bat, a lot of people's initial impression may not be good.  And even trying to explain thing isn't easy, either.  I have yet to approach anyone, but I can only imagine a possible conversation:

Me: "so I found this pretty awesome site the other day where you can make some pretty easy money..."
friend: "sounds like a scam to me"
Me: "no no, it's totally legit.  you just sign up for a few trial offers and-"
friend: "ok, that REALLY sounds like a scam!"
me: "er, well there are also surveys you can take for money"
friend: "sounds pretty mundane..."
Me: "you just start a new e-mail account for all the spam and whatnot from the offers"
friend: "I already have 3 accounts"

Anyway, do you guys have any pointers for approaching people?  I'm thinking of putting a banner link with my referral page on my Facebook/Myspace, as these pages are seen by several thousand people a month, but then again I use it for my review organization so it would look rather unprofessional...

Arg!  I don't know what to do! :dontknow:

I suppose I could stop by the folk's house sometime, but I'm pretty sure they, along with anyone else in my family won't go for it.:(

Hmm, an example...maybe I should just wait until I cashout in a week or so and show them the proof of the pudding!

Facebook links are handy too. For the longest time, I though FC was a scam because I didn't realize that paypal stores money- I thought they direct it right to the bank...so for months my payout was sitting there...now that I have found it (and spent it), I have directed a lot of broke college kids here. You have to share with the people who need money or want to earn extra money. That helps.
Referrals are the best way to make cash though...by far. ;)

It is indeed handy.  Unfortunately, I utterly despise Facebook (with a true passion, mind you).  I have it on Myspace as well, but the page itself is quite literally a huge, huge area, so the banner sort of gets lost in there:(...
