I dont think what people do in their off time has anything to
do with business time. if so we should all be fired. :bunny:

I cannot understand this way of thinking.  If you will lie and cheat, then you lie and cheat.  Period.

People act like we are two separate and distinct people and one is not related to the other.  The very same person who lied to his wife and family and acted like a creepy weirdo is the same person who has been entrusted with the well being of people in his district.  Same person.  If he was a child molester but he didn't do it at work would it be ok for him to stay in office because he didn't do it while he was at work?

People don't like to face the fact that we are who we are.  If you are a dishonest creep you just are.  It doesn't stop when you walk into work.

And by the way, what would have happened if the person who uncovered the story volunteered to forget about it if the Congressman had agreed to vote a certain way on a bill or divert funds or divulge classified info that could then be sold to an enemy?  That is even more reason why a politician's character matters.

I agree 100% with the above quote.  If you're a liar and a cheat sometimes then you're a liar and a cheat all of the time.

Yes, yes, and yes to that! This is only one incident we know about and I guarantee there are many more. "Where there's smoke, there's fire." I just heard this morning he has had the gall to request a leave of absence from Congress in order to seek treatment. What?! Come again?! This is NOT a 9-5 job where you are payed by the owner of a company. It is an office you are elected to by the People and are paid for serving in that office by the People - taxpayers, we 'common folk'. Can you say shades of Clinton Gate anyone? :angry7:

I just watched the utube of his conversation that made him famous.  If he can lie about this and other things, he does not belong in congress.  A leave of absence does not do it.  He should resign.

I think he should have enough scruples that he would resign on his own before all this media about him resigning.

Only in Washington could such a sleezebag lie & lie & then take a 'leave of absense' to get over it.  They haven't said bit I'm sure it's a PAID leave.  They treat taxpayer money like Monopoly money  :BangHead:

Well why did he have to lie about it in the first place? It was his own business so why was anyone digging around in it so that he had to lie about it. Just leave people alone. I've always dreamed of being famous, but since stuff like that happens ALL the time I guess it's a good thing I'm not :) Not that I do anything that's bad but I'm sure they be able to make up something.

I heard that some journalists were painting Weiner as the victim in all this, but to actually see someone believing it... No one forced him to lie. He could have told the truth at any time.

And yes, it is our business what our elected officials are doing. He took those photos of himself in the congressional gym, a perk WE pay for with our tax dollars. It's also possible he used government computers/phones to conduct all of this behavior. If you owned a company and your employee was behaving like this on company time, on your business phones or computers, would it be your business to know about it?

Breitbart is no journalist?????   Really?  Could have fooled me.  You don't have to work for the New York Times to be a journalist.

I am sure he is getting paid as well and if he resigns they will probably give him retirement.  We need a new group of lawmakers.

Based on the fact that he is now history with a nice pension courtesy of the American taxpayers, I don't think most people agree with you.  All of us have rights to our opinions, actions and speech, but a representative of the people should be the best of the best, not the worst of the worst.

I think that the people that elected should make the decision about his impeachment. As long as it is proven that he did nothing illeagal then then it does not concern the people.
