HA, considering the attention span of an average
16 year old in 2011... i say 21  :P  but i'm not
bitter or anything.

Considering most states (48/50) have laws restricting when kids can drive (like not at night), (46/50) how many people can be in the vehicle unless supervised by a licensed person over 21, and require logged driver training hours, it's fine.  Most states you have to be 17 or 18 (some even later) for a full unrestricted DL.  It's up to the parents to make sure their kids are responsible drivers (not the government).  Laws can only do so much.

And if you think about it, how many older people started driving at 14-16?  The problem isn't the physical age; it's the lack of parental control and responsibility.  People raise their kids on Grand Theft Auto and daycare; no one's around to teach them.

i sort of agree...idk how much changing the age will make an impact...the important thing is that kids understand the responsibility to go with the privilege...if you can drive, you should have to take responsibility for it........though I'm glad there are restrictions and such....

If a child is mature it does not matter the age, if they still can not do their chores around the house and clean their room all the time then they proable do not need to drive

Age shouldn't matter. It should be based on competency. There are plenty of older people and even older seniors who can't drive worth a frak.
And then cellphones come into play.

That would really be a good age, and no cell phones.
