How do you wash your dishes?

I wash my dishes by hand, i don't leave the water running while i am not using it. I pay for water usage.

If you handwash your dishes like I do, do you leave the water running while doing so?...oh this is another thing that drives me crazy...conserve water and shut it off...I need to start a pet peeve topic lol ...i'm ok i'm ok
[I also handwash my dishes. I find using a basin filled with water, my favorite dishwashing liquid and three tablespoons of bleach to be the best. I think dishes can be clean and pretty close to bacteria free with this recipe. As for the water waste if you use a basin you can wash all of the dishes and flatware and rinse well once after you have washed them that way the water is on once to fill and once to rinse. /quote]

i had wash my dishes also and try to save as much little water as posible, i hate it when people leave the water running when washing the dishes or anything for that matter.

sometimes i do hand wash my dishes but most of the time i put them in the dishwasher but my dish washer isnt so great ne more so some of the dishes i take out, i have to wash by hand and i hate that. but speaking of conserving water. mom says i used to turn the water off each time she would brush her teeth coz she would keep it on. i remember that! she says i saw a seasame street episode about conserving water and helping the fish and from then on i have been shutting the water off. i only turn the water on when i have to rinse something and i turn it right back off when im done rinsing it. there are 2 reasons i do this..1. the fish..2. my sink fills up with water fast and sometimes it doesnt go down fast enough coz there are other dishes in there so i have to let the sink drain before i do more dishes. also when i brush my teeth i put the toothpaste on my tooth brush turn on the water and make my tooth brush just wet enough to stick in my mouth then i turn it off. i only turn it back on when i have to rinse the sink of my spit and then im done in the bathroom.

I like to wash dishes while multi-tasking.  Let's face it: water is a natural resource we all need to conserve and it can also be expensive.  So I figure what the heck, multi-task.  What do I mean?  Let me tell you.  I try to wash everything at once.  And on top of that, I water the grass at the same time.  Let me explain: I set up the sprinkler outside.  I get the kids in their bathing suits and throw them a bar of soap.  I also take my dirty clothes outside along with the dishes.  And I make sure the car is in range of the sprinkler and get a buddy to wash it while the kids are showering and I'm doing the dishes, clothes and watering the lawn.  It saves money, let me tell you.  Of course I do get strange looks from my neighbors from time to time... that's OK though!

I definitely hand wash my dishes.I don't leave the water running,but hubby does.I don't say anything as long as he's willing to help wash the dishes.My granddaughter likes to leave the water running also.I am always after her to cut the water off.

I have caught myself leaving the water running, out of a bad habit.  I have gotten better about not leaving it running over the past few years though.

I will wash some by hand if i have to, but generally after i use dishes i rinse them off and put them in the dishwasher.  When the dishwasher is full i turn it on.  nice and simple

I wash my dishes by hand we don't have room for a dishwasher and dish washers don't always get them clean
