How do you wash your dishes?

If you handwash your dishes like I do, do you leave the water running while doing so?...oh this is another thing that drives me crazy...conserve water and shut it off...I need to start a pet peeve topic lol ...i'm ok i'm ok

I do wash them by hand, but no, I don't leave the water running. I do know people who do and it drives me crazy too!!

Hi Kankula, My son's girlfriend was here a few weeks ago and it was my first time meeting her. I made them dinner and she offered to wash the dishes, well she let the water run and run and run and it took all my strenth to bite my tongue. I mentioned it to my son later on and he mentioned it to her UGH. a week later she said sorry and I felt like a nut because my son said something to her but I think she knows now to shut it off lol

Lol!! My daughter-in law does the same thing. It is really hard not to say something. When I wash dishes at their house, I don't turn it on until I have a sink load of dishes to rinse. After a while, she will turn the water on and rinse each item I wash as soon as I'm done washing it. It takes everything in me not to turn it off. Oh well, at least there are still some of us who conserve! lol

Thank you. You too. I am a stay at home housewife (for now. with this economy, I may just have to break down and get a job!). I have 4 beautiful grandchildren. Most of my friends around here have either past away or moved out, so most of my conversations are with chilren! It' nice to talk to an adult once in a while! I am very new at this, but I think I'm getting the hang of it.

it took me a few days as well but I have it down pat now lol...you'll get it and welcome by the way...4 Grandkids you're so lucky. I have 2 and want more but my kids dont now whats up with that lol..i'm working on them

hi there its funny because I do leave the water running, but get this I also leave the water running while im cooking also, my husband (may he rest in peace) use to hate when i left the water running, its a habit I have for years. I should try not to leave the water running...

I hand wash my dishes and turn the water off.  I have to bite my tongue when my daughters are here because they dont turn it off.  Its nice to hear from other women that stay at home now and have grandkids, I have 5 and one on the way.

I wash my dishes in the dish washer. It is an energy saving unit. It actually uses less water then if I did them by hand. I love it.

Interesting topic........SHUT THE OFF THE WATER........ I hear that a lot when I'm washing a couple dishes, but I only leave it running because I sometimes wonder off and forgot I'm even washing dishes, but then somewhere a voice would yell......WHY DO YOU LEAVE THE WATER RUNNING??!!!
