I think it is a way of saying something like "Thank you very much for introducing me to this great site here is a buck for your kindness" .Because thats the one of the ways you will make money(referrals). So confirm your email as a sign of appreciation same way someone will do the same to Thank u!!!!!!!!!!

I have many of my referrals that have STILL not done this easy step.  LOL  Maybe it went into a spam folder and they did not get it.
