Do you think that a dog that is rescued shows more loyalty than a dog that is bought?

I don't think a dog will know either way.  They don't know they are rescued or what that means or how to feel about it.

I don't agree with dreamyxo. I think a rescue dog does know that it was rescued. Some people don't think an animal has feelings but they do. A well cared for animal is a happier animal than an uncared for one. And I think that a dog at a shelter knows and feels it has been abandoned, therefore I believe it knows it has been rescued. But I don't think it makes it MORE loyal because it was rescued. A well cared for dog will be loyal either way.

I don't think it really matters whether or not it has been rescued or bought I believe it is all about the owner and how much time you put into training the dog. I have a pure bread pitbull and I believe the ban is so retarded! My dog is one of the most loyal dogs I have ever met in my life.. He would never hurt a sole! unless they were hurting me.. I believe that ANY dog in that matter can do just as much damage.. I am sorry for those who believe otherwise or have seen different. I wish I could introduce them to my dog.. The owner should be held responsible for their dogs actions much more. I believe that dogs that are trained to be vicious is not only cruel and inhumane to the animal itself and those who have run ins with the vicious animal but as well everyone else in the world who for instance has a pitbull that wouldn't hurt a person let alone a fly in the world. I now have to put a muzzle on my dog and watch him sadly rub his nose against the pavement, not be able to eat/drink, rubbing his paw on his nose, having troubles breathing, and so much more.. On a hot summer day he can barely stick his tounge out of his mouth as a matter of fact he can't.. But unfortunately my dog has to be neutered, micro-chipped, muzzled, and registered.. I believe that this is pathetic.. We don't even do this amount of damage to petafiles, murderers, rapists, etc. THIS IS CRUEL! THIS IS RACIST! THIS IS PATHETIC! I am sorry about the long entry I am very opinionated, ecspecially when it comes to the ban against pitbulls.. Why not the ban against rapists? murderers? petefiles?

I believe if you had a dog since it was a pup that it will show more loyalty. Then again, it depends on the owner because I'm sure a dog don't wanna be loyal to a abusive owner.

:bs:I beg to differ with you on this subject because any animal knows when they have been rescued and they are "thankful and greatful" to the individual that "rescues" them I have saved several dogs and they turned out to be loyal & a very good dog!I am still trying to figure out where you get your theory about this subject. ???

No.  My dog has loved me since I picked him up from the breeder.  May have been because he was the last one to get picked ~ he had a few health issues.  He is the love of our life since our daughter grew up on us.
Have a wonderful day!

I think it is all on how the dog is treated.  You could have bought him and treated him like crap and he may not like you.  Or you could have bought him and treated him like a member of the family and he will love  you.  It just depends.
