The show 'Pit Boss' anyone watch it?
« on: April 30, 2011, 07:03:25 pm »
The wife is in love with that show, can't wait for the new season. I wish there were more people out there to show people Pit Bulls are only a misunderstood breed, like any other dog they just want love and attention. You teach a dog to bite, what do you expect? When I first met my wife she told me she had a 1 1/2 year old Pit Bull mix named Scout, I was a little hesitant to meet her dog but after seeing him happy and jumping around like the goof ball he is I knew he was no threat. Watching Pit Boss made my eyes open even more about these dogs, all I've ever heard was the negative things about them and the negativity came from people who know nothing about these dogs. Pit bulls were actually bred to help man kind but from the help of a few ignorant people, they turned this breed looking like "killing machines" that they're not.

I not only watch Pit Boss but I record it and am saving up to buy it through iTunes. It is a great show. Shorty is so crude yet he has a good and caring heart when it comes to pits. I agree with him that they are a greatly misunderstood breed. They're not vicious unless they are abused and then what else do you expect to happen? Any dog breed that is abused would become vicious.

Well said! And 100% agreed. I love Shorty and how he wants to get things done and he lets people know it, hes a good leader, person, and boss. My wife has the idea when we get things on track she wants to drive to Cali and adopt a Pit from Fur Babies! We're not too far away, but it'll still be pricey if its too happen.  :o

Yes! Well, if I get to anyway. I don't always get to see it but I do really enjoy it. Watched a marathon of it with my mom a while back. Really great show. It's entertaining but also provides bits of information.

Any dog has the ability to "turn" and be vicious with a killing instinct. Family German Shepherds have had their pet turn and maul one of the children. It happens more than you know. I'm not singling out German Shepherds, but Doberman's, Husky's, Pits, etc., have been known to get a wire crossed and go killer crazy. They don't know why. Of course if you teach a dog to be the protector (most dogs do this naturally with their host family), then they will turn on strangers that pose a threat to the family (in the dog's mind).

I remember on the farm, if one of our dogs got a killing instinct and killed one of the sheep or chickens. That changed them and you could hardly break them of it after that.
