If you don't have any kids already then it's never too late.

I would agree with most people here - around 35. And I think adoption is a great alternative.

i think it depends more on the woman's health rather than her age.

I'm 28 and I definitely want to have one before hitting the big 30. But most likely I won't get my wish until this hubby of mine decides when. You believe that. A man having to decide when we're going to have a baby. Uuuugggh! I can't stand waiting anymore. He needs to hurry up.

I think that it depends on the each person.  I know that we tried for almost 10 years to have a baby. If you have the good health and the energy to track after the child then I think go for it but remember that things change everyday in life so you cant always plan on them working out the way that we want.  So you cant plan on what is going to happen so as long as you are health and want a child I think that if the risk is low for the child having problems that go for it.

I agree that the answer is when nature says you can't have any. I was on hormones/infertility drugs before I had kids so that I could have them. I would prefer to never mess with that again. So, if I was older, I wouldn't do the hormone thing to have more kids. You wouldn't want me around if I chose to force it because I'm horrible to be around when I do infertility drugs.

I think this is a personal decision everyone has to make. It's becoming more common for women to have babies later in life after establishing careers or just waiting until they've experienced more of life. And that stability and experience can certainly be of value to a child. But as women get older, they have to weight the health risks more to themselves and the child and they have to consider realisitically how much time they'll have to be a part of that child's life. I personally wouldn't want to have a child unless, all things being equal, I thought I could live to see that child be 18 so that I could protect that child.
