stress relievers
« on: April 28, 2011, 08:39:05 am »
I think the reason we are all here is becasue we are looking for ways to relieve finiacial stress by becoming more financialy stable. Agreed? While an increase in finances is obviously the best way, I have found that even that is a process so I have decided to share some of the ways that I relieve stress when it all becomes too much! Currently I have dealt with depression so these are some things that have helped me.  Hope it helps

Exercise- although I am currently overweight, I am working on my weight loss journey and have found that even when you don't feel like it, exercise does relieve stress. When feeling overwhelmed engage in some type of arobic exercise. For me, dance is the funniest.

Listen to music. For me listenin to music has alwasys been a way of escape and for me I base the type of music on my mood. If i need to cry I listen to something sappy. If I am angry I listen to upbeat music I can jump around too. Helps me to release emotions without taking it out on others!

Read for pleasure or inspiraion- personally I hate to read! But I have found that reading even my small everyday devotion on my calender replaces a bad thought with a good one!!!

Engage in something you really enjoy. Personally I like to sing, play pioano and write so when I feel overwhelmed I try t o engegae in one of these.

Surrond yourself with positiveity and hope- We all have doubt and negative thoughts but what we do about iot is what detremines our outcoe. Life doe hand us situations we cant control but if we continue t encourage ourselves with the thought of hope, we will feel better and continue to preservere.

I like any kind of hobby that can take my mind off things, or zoning out and playing Tetris.

Great stress relievers for me are long walks with my dog and bubble baths with lots of candles.

I try to start everyday talking to Jesus, and reading the Bible. Makes the day go a lot better than it would otherwise. Love needle crafts when I have extra time (what's that huh?). Getting a long walk in the early evening helps me sleep long and peaceful at night. Sewing always relaxes me, and produces something beautiful and functional. I heard we are getting a "Joanne's Fabrics" in a few months in this small town where I live, and I can't wait! Most of my free time will be spent there...lol I'm just starting to make Christmas bazaar items to sell during the holiday season. Life is good!

doing any kind of work outside helps me, be it gardening, stacking wood, just anything to make you move.

I've found exercise and music to be the best stress relievers for me. I forget about everything three minutes into my run and come back so refreshed!
