Most employers will take a good look at where you got your degree.  A good university or college gives you a much better chance of being hired.

Online schools can be fun abd very efficient to study with. One neds to make sure the school has the proper creddentials pertaining to their field of study.

Your first worry shouldn't be whether you'd get more or less respect. It should be whether your diploma is worth the paper it's written on. Be careful! There are online schools out there that aren't accredited, and are only interested in your money. Great for those who are busy with families, jobs, and live long distance from schools.

I think it all depends on the Online school, Just like brick and mortor schools. I know quite a few people that has graduated from Pheonix/ITT Tech and other high ranking online schools that has done quite well for themselves. I think employer's understand that some people are receiving their educations later in age and they cannot go to conventional schools because of family situations and Job requirements. There are alot of high regarded online colleges out there, just need to research for your line of study.

Many online schools have good accreditation. One should not judge a book by it's cover.

I think it's very convenient for those of us who want to return to school, but have to work. I would be more worried about whether the online school is accredited or not and if the diploma I earn is worth anything.

    I was a student on campus in California last year..  I moved to Colorado and was wanting to finish getting my Bachelors Degree.  I just enrolled with a on-line school and my credits were transfered plus, I was able to get Grants and Loans.  I think this is GREAT!!
