Just to clarify a statement in there, about 'god made people that way' etc.etc.

You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination. (NKJ, Leviticus 18:22)

If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them. (NKJ, Leviticus 20:13)

The Bible states it an abomination for men and women to be intimate with each other in such a manner. Therefore, God did not make us that way, we choose it - as we choose everything that we do.


Not everyone cares to follow the Word of God. Not everyone believes. It's hard to point a finger and say 'believe me, it's true!'. I didn't believe that way and I doubt anyone else would! However, if a person wants to find truth, I believe they can seek it and we'll land at the same spot, because truth doesn't change. If a person doesn't want to seek truth and just wants to do whatever he/she feels like, well, there ya go.

Either way, we should still respect one another.

Bubba believes that he is a gay man because g-d made him that way.  I agree with him.  Your interpretation of the Bible says one thing; mine says quite another. 

If your church does not allow gay marriage, fine.  Don't perform them.  However, when it comes to the federal government, it is pure blatant discrimination to not allow gay couples to have the same legal rights as heterosexual couples.  Bottom line.  Put whatever label you wish to upon it.  I prefer to call it equality and love.

Regardless of whether or not you or anyone else approves, including your interpretation of what the Bible says, people are going to love each other on their own terms, as they should.  Gay people, as American citizens, deserve the same rights as heterosexual people.  Are gay people substandard because they don't love the way a majority deems to be acceptable?  They don't deserve the same rights?  They were born that way the same a woman was born to be a woman and people of different races/cultures were born into them.  Anyone who honestly believes a gay person chooses the life of persecution and constant fear is badly mistaken.  The only choice they make is to embrace who they are and enjoy their lives to the fullest.


So, to answer the original question: yes, I am definitely in favor of gay marriage.

Rock on!  I often ask people when they claim it is a choice for people to be homosexual when they chose to be heterosexual.  Its ridiculous and discriminatory.  People fall in love with people...the genitalia is just a fringe benefit...

Why can't gay people get married like the rest of the population? If they want to get married and be miserable like everyone else, then let them. Who cares? I don't think its anyone's business what two consenting adults do with eachother. Are they out murdering people? No. So, how is it hurting other people if they marry?

I think that people should mind their own business when it comes to this. Too many people sticking their nose in other peoples business these days. Oh, its a sin, omg, They're different. Eww they like other men... Screw that and anyone who thinks that way. How dare anyone judge them because of who they love. A disagreement about homosexuality has nothing to do with anyone looking down their nose at anybody. As far as our man-written book as you call it, it's called the Bible. Some of us believe in what is written within it's pages. Homosexuality (according to the Bible) is a defilement of the people and their land. It's the same today. Sinful behavior does corrupt a people, including their land/Nation.

In fact, the judgement that you are accusing believers of exercising, is so clearly evident in your post against those who believe in the Bible and it's teachings.

Why are there Christians? Why are there unbelievers? Agnostics? Atheists? Rapists? Child molesters? Generous people, loving people, people that believe the Bible, people who don't? etc?

There are some people that I am quite aware it is not worth my time to spread reason with, because reason eludes them.  For the rest, that have the capacity to feel for other human beings and may be living under a misconception, I address you in hopes that you will understand.

People fall in love with people.  People are born with the capacity to love other people.  People are born into their sexuality.  They make choices regarding religion and the actions they carry out.  Love, though, is not a choice.  Look at your significant other, look at your child and you will know this is true deep down inside.  To ask someone to deny what is in their heart when it comes to love is the worst blasphemy, IMO.  Ask a Christian, a Jew, a Muslim not to love their g-d and they will tell you it is not possible.  Because love is not a choice.  It is a way of life.
