do you think pedafiles and rapist deserve longer time in jail?

all over the world their are pedafiles and rapist who get away with alot, do you think that they deserve to serve longer years in prison for the crime that they committed. They create more than physical damge. alot of people who had this experience have to deal with this life long and its not anything you can just make go away. A friend of mines whent through a rough time a few years back she still deals with it until this day but what she is trying to do is make a diffrence and get her poin across she is now in school for criminal justice and she wants to help rape victims and put all the people who dont deserve to see light again behid bars. whats your personal opinion?

Yes, longer time, and much more treatment. These people have no respect for the rights of others. Something is very wrong and innocent people need to be protected.

I totaly agree. i think they get off to easy a few years arents anything i think they deserve a long sentece and if they do deside to let them out put them in a halfway house were they can be monoterd!

      I believe they should be Castrated plus, a life sentence for each child they`ve harmed!!  No chance of parole either..

I'm sure all of you know of "Amber's Law". You can go down to the police station or court house, and rightfully get information if there is a sexual offender living near you or not.

While I advocate longer sentences in prison, castration doesn't take away the desire or perverted mindset such an individual has. After they get out of prison, there has to be a better way to keep control of these individuals. There must be strict guide lines of those who have previously abused children. They should never have a job where it puts them in any contact with children....even vague contact. It's amazing how many of these people get jobs as Janitors in schools or child care agencies.

The best thing is to educate your children what to do in case such a thing is presented to them. Always know where they are at, who are they visiting, playing with, etc. They are to be told never to get into a car with anyone, even if you know them or not, and to never enter anyone's home. To never take a short cut across any property, field, etc, To carry a cell phone for emergencies. There have been stories of violators running away when a kid pulls out a cell phone to dial 911.

i agree with stokeman thats a good idea. people who enjoy harming children should get the up most punishment its not righ in any kind of way. and your right you can get a list of pedafiles but that still doesnt stop them from doing what their doing life in prison is a great idea hands down!

I was a victim of molestation as a child, and I'm still dealing with it to this day. It never really goes away. Yes, I think that sex-offender's should get more time. The guy who molested me was only sentenced to one year but was released early because of good time. I don't think justice was served at all. If they start giving out harsher sentences then I believe most ppl will think twice before committing sex crimes.

There are cases where treatment and chemical castration succeeds in stopping the behavior; those people should be released. After all, it's pretty expensive locking people up. However, the state should be EXTRA careful about granting parole to anyone who has committed a crime against a child.

I don't know why they even bother releasing sex offenders. Most sex offenders commit second offences. They deserve life in prison, society would be better off without them.
