What is publix? I'm not a fan of Walmart cakes. I prefer to make my own with my own frosting. The do not look like a store bought cake, but taste soooo much better.

I can not stand Wal-Mart cakes which tastes like cardboard.  Publix  makes good cakes but I prefer store bought cakes.

Wouldn't Wal-Mart and Publix bought cakes be considered store bought cakes?

I prefer to make my own. Even Publix has rather dry cake compared to what I make from scratch.

I have had cakes from Wal-Mart and I have had cakes from Publix and I have to say that Publix for my family wins out.  The cakes from Wal-Mart aren't AWFUL but they just aren't quite as good as Publix. I like the butter cream icing better and I think the texture of the cake itself is better.

Let me guess, you live somewhere in florida. The only place I know where a Publix supermarket exists.

walmart cakes taste like dried up sponges
that have been sprayed with perfume or something.  :sad1:
my fiance worked at kroger (and not that i'm
an expert, but) none of the grocery store bakeries
MAKE their own cakes. they are shipped to the store
pre-made and frozen. they only do the icing work.

make your own cake/desert for less than half
the price of and much, much tastier!

Well I never buy store bought cakes since I am a cake decorator so I wouldn't know how they would taste

I've only been to Publix once in my life. I've used Walmart for all my cake needs since I can remember.
