Do you think more stars should take a stand against pornography?

Whoop dee do good for him.  Stars don't give a rats a$$ about yours or anyone else's kids but their own just like everybody else.  They can do whatever they want.  Yeah they may have more money and slightly more influence over the media but they are not responsible for what your kids are exposed to you as a parent are.  If you want to see that your kids aren't looking at *bleep* lock them in the house don't have a tv or a computer, don't subscribe to any magazines.  Problem solved.  How about you join David if you are so outraged about it and do something instead of waiting on celebrities or anyone else.

However, that said, I agree that the concept is ludicrous.  Some people think "stars" are somewhere on a level above normal people.  The public is what makes them "stars" anyway.  They are no better (and sometimes much worse, morally) than the average person.  The stand against pornography must come from parents and people who do not like the filth.  As for freedom of speech, your freedom ends where my nose begins.

I don't think stars really care about the availability of pornography unless it is affecting their families directly. Stars are no different than regular people as far as their concerns. I think because stars seem to influence the younger generation, then something said by them against pornography might change the attitudes of those considering watching it but not those who make the films.

Stars don't care about pornography, half of them make there own. Look at Paris, Pam, Vince Neil and a Tom Sizemore.

Sex and pornography sell because people who don't want it don't stand up against it.  And sex sells because the media has decided that is what sells.  We are bombarded with it so much that many people just try to ignore it - turn it off.   The segment of society that wants this filth is not as much as what we are led to believe, I think.  And the younger generation that are affected by *bleep* become that way because they see so much of it, they think it is normal.  I am not what is considered a prude, I don't think, but I believe the lack of morals is a large part of what is wrong with this country.  It cannot be a good thing to be so inundated with sex and pornography that we get to think that is the norm.  No wonder we have so much violent crime against women and children.  I can't count the times I've heard violent criminals and sexual sadists who are being interviewed say they were affected by the violence and pornography they see in the media.  Think about it!!!

The major problem is that it is called the "World Wide Web" because it is, well, world-wide.... Even if the US were to pass laws against it, other countries would still be able to post it. Besides, the US is a free country... We should (edit) not have the government handle everything that should be our responsibility. If we don't want our children to watch *bleep*, we should teach them why through our own morals; not to rely on the government or some TV star to take the responsibility away from parents.
