It is rude to not return phone calls ! It is also rude to call people after 7 pm unless you have an agreement other wise! My sister-in-law must not have been taught manners by her mama ! Then again she is from New York ...

Well put!!!

A phone ringing is intrusive at it is.  It says "no matter what you are doing, drop it, and answer me".  I love caller ID. I don't return sales calls or calls that are vague about what they want. Especially if they leave no name....only a number.  I try to be patient with telemarketers, but will interrupt them if it's something I don't need or want.

I have an unlisted number and only my close friends, family and important associates have it. I will return phone calls at all times from someone who leaves a message and number.  If someone I recognize calls, and leaves no message, but I see their name and number on my caller ID, I will call them to find out what they needed. An unrecognizable caller ID, and number, gets no call back under any circumstances.

I agree with what a lot of people are saying, it depends on the situation. I work for Verizon Wireless and spend a lot of time working with phones and talking on the phone. So when I get off work, a lot of times I don't want to talk on the phone. i try my best to call people back, but sometimes it slips my mind.
