Teresa is Spanish for Harvester....Terri, for short, is Greek, also means Harvester.
My mom insisted on having it spelled "Terry" on my birth certificate...and the hospital forbid it because it's a boy name.  Had she gotten her way....  Terry, short for Terence, Latin for Tender, Gracious. 
I think I fit the latter meaning more....because I certainly don't fit harvester..not too good with plants or anything in the garden.  LOL
