I don't think they will actually go on strike. I figure a compromise is coming that both sides will be okay with. I think it is absolutely ridiculous that Obama felt the need to say that it isn't his business to fix. Yes, we all know that and did not expect you to intervene so why even comment?

Thanks for saying that! It's so true and it ticked me off big time when he had the gall to even waste a thought about it, let alone make the comments he did. Maybe he'll offer THEM a 7billion dollar bailout too.....

There are more important things in this world to worry about right now so I find it extremely hard to feel sorry for a bunch of people making millions of dollars a year for catching a ball and running around.  I don't watch football so I could care less.

I'm with most here.....I really love watching football, but I think it's turned into a greedy business and all they want is more & more. Do they even realize how many hungry and homeless people there are out there??

Yes I think they will go on strike and the short term economic impact will be devestating for those in support of the sport.  But maybe in the long run they will come up with a way to make it more affordable for the fans to watch and participate.

I think they will strike. I read that the players union wants 60% of revenue, and the owners want to reduce the revenue the players get now.

Either way... my dad hasn't watched an NFL game since the last strike! He says, "If they don't care enough about the fans, why should I bother to watch?"  LOL

My thoughts exactly. They get paid to run up and down a field and bash the crap out of eachother. I never understood why athletes get paid so much for playing football, basketball, baseball, etc...yet people like fire fighters and police officers who risk their lives don't get paid like that.
