I usually do something fun, and try to get out of the house, then pray. Usually works, but sometimes it is tough.

Thanks for all the great ideas everyone! I have also started picking up aluminum cans while walking, then when I am stressed or angry I can just stomp on them to crush them! (lol),

I either write in my blog or in my journal. Especially if I have a lot on my mind. It helps me clear my mind so I can fall asleep at night.

I would go get a long massage, then go home and talk a warm bath. Turn off my cell phone, home phone. Spend a day just by myself.

I deal with stress by meditating and monitoring my thoughts. Sometimes we have so much on our mind that is not positive and will cause stress and depression or sadness.  So I take the time to monitor my thoughts.  WAtch what I am thinking.  Anything negative is dismissed, any regrets and guilt is dismissed.  ANd I think positive and allow my mind to just rest.

I'll try to do something physical, like going to the gym.  Reading is always helpful, too.

I started a new job this week and man am I stressed- this is a very opportune topic!

Depending on the stress, I either do a good workout (dance, or regular treadmill/walk/bike/weights stuff).  That seems to drain the stress energies out, plus I just always feel really good after a workout and sleep better at night.

Sometimes, though, I'll practice the piano for an hour or so.  It's got to be that "music soothes the savage beast" theory.

Depends on the weather. If it's nice out, I'll go for a run, or drive up to the batting cages, or just take an axe to the trees in my backyard. If it's really bad out, like blizzard/thunderstorm conditions, I'll get on my bench press and just keep pressing until I can't anymore.

Since I live in south Florida the weather is almost always great. So I go for a ride in my convertible with the top down and play a Calypso Steel Band CD. Stress does not stand a chance. :)
