Dealing with stress
« on: February 28, 2011, 07:54:55 pm »
How does everybody deal with stress? Me I try to go for a walk when the weather is decent enough here in Nebraska, but I also do arts and crafts to avoid stressing out about things but I need other suggestions! Thanks to all!

Haha this one hits home with me.  I try to channel it through something physical.  I can't relieve stress by talking about it as I do tend to hold alot in.  I like to lift weights or hit a punching bag.  Martial arts are a great way for me to channel my stress into something positive.

I deal with stress by getting enough rest, eating healthier, going for a jog, and/or cleaning the apartment.

I like to do outside things to relieve stree, splitting wood is my favorite.  Their nothing like giving something a good wack to make you feel better.

After a very stressful day, I like to relax in front of the TV and let my brain shut off. My husband is quick to notice and offers me massages and will help with the cooking and cleaning, so that always helps too. Probably my favorite thing is to play tennis because I can take out my frustrations and let the stress work its way out of my body.

clean! if i'm stressed/angry/upset enough, you can
definitely find me scrubbing down the bathroom or
kitchen. i get on a cleaning kick and can't stop. its
like i have tunnel vision, and it really does help take
my mind off things.

i also like to get lost in a book and read. art used
to be a good, creative stress reliever for me. but
sometimes it induces more stress because i can
be a perfectionist and i sometimes get frustrated
easy...

I also like to go walk whenever I am stressed.     If the weather is bad I usually walk on my treadmill!   It really does seem to help.

I think that everyone deals with stress in different ways.  One of the ways that I deal with stress it to make sure that I take time for myself.  It may not be much as far as time goes maybe only 5 or 10 minutes but I try to do that everyday and let things go.  If you don't have a way to relieve the stress you are asking for alot of problems either now or in the futrue.  And it is impossible to have no stress in your life.  Because at some point things get stress full either for a little time or a long time.  But you must always remember to take it one day at a time and only deal with what you can on a given day.

We need to talk to God when we are stressful, God is always ready to listen and will help us sort out our feelings.

Those are good ideas. I  really like the wacking wood idea. I'll have to try that.

Mostly, I just like some alone/me time when I'm stressed. Time with my sewing machine always helps.
