Credit Card Protection
« on: April 27, 2008, 11:10:07 am »
I would like some feedback from more experienced Paid Offer people here.

I just found out that Bank of America has an amazing feature to their online banking if you have a credit card with them. You can go into your online banking and request a SafePay credit card number that is generated on the spot including the Cvc number some sites need. You can set a limit and expiration for each transaction and use that credit card number they give you, but it charges to your main credit card account. The merchant does not know that you are not using your main number, but if they try to charge over the limit you set or make charges after the expiration you established, it gets denied.

It was enough for me to sign up and I got approved, but my card won't be here for a week or two. Has anyone tried doing offers with something like this? To clarify, it's NOT a pre-paid card or Debit card, it looks like a normal credit card to the merchant.

Anyone else tried this?

Hey froggyjoe:

What is PayPal plug?  It generates card numbers?  What are the fees?

Thanks

Please we are not to dicuss canceling trial offers better read the terms
 :icon_rr:
Who said anything about cancelling anything? I just don't like the idea of giving anyone the right to whack my card whenever they want to.

Sir, the quote you have was not directed at you, the Aministrators of this site will frequently remove a posters comment and replace it with their own if the poster violates this sites terms of service...(notice under the comment it says:« Last Edit: May 01, 2008, 07:07:09 pm by Kohler »so he was in fact, responding to something Marina48 posted.

In response to your original post about the Bank of America feature that helps protect your CC account, it is an excellent idea!!!!...More and more GPT'ers are finding out the hard way that some trial offers end up taking more money from their account then they should have (even if the customer read the TOS of the offer)...so by all means before you do even one offer, make sure that BOA card is the one you use...you wont regret it..
