It doesn't matter, you are going to do it someday anyway.

My feelings about this situation I seen on a sign or movie (actually I don't remember) but, I liked how it put it. I'm not afraid of dying, it's the sudden stop at the end. LOL!

I am terrified of dying, because I won't be able to help my family and friends anymore and I know it will break my daughter's heart- something I don't look forward too

If I was like 105, no I wouldn't be afraid to die (peacefully) cause it would be my time. Right now I'm young and have too much to live for and so many things that I haven't done yet.

I think before someone can truly feel they are not afraid to die they should watch someone die.  It is heart wrenching, frightening, agonizing, and just a horrible thing to go through.

To watch and hear that last breath slip from the lungs as they shut down forever, makes you stop breathing, you feel your heart skip a few times and then beat hard against your chest forcing you to take that first breathe.  You stand there alive in a pool of tears as your loved ones lays there in a corpse, not knowing what has just happened.

You talk to them for a time waiting for the mortician to arrive with gurney and a body bag.  The stories pour out of your mouth trying to keep that spark of life going between you and the immediately departed.  But they don’t answer back, not in a way you can hear them.

Your lifeline to them is severed and now you spend your days in mourning.  I fear death and you should too!
But I fear the dentist too!

I'm more afraid at this point of what would happen to my son if I were to die. Hopefully I will go peacefully in my sleep...a long long time from now. As for being afraid to die, I don't think I am but I'm sure if I was having a heart attack or something the fear would come.

The Lord has not given me a spirit of fear, but The Spirit of power, love and a sound mind! All those who know Jesus as Lord and Savior see the passing away of the physical body as the release of our true selves, our Born Again spirit to be joined to Him for eternity. Death, where is your victory- grave, where is your sting??? I praise His Holy name for delivering me from all my fears, including the natural fear of death.

In his last hour Jesus asked his father why he forsaken him.  Those words reflect that moments fear of death or the unknown.  Jesus did not want to die, he left behind a secret life, a wife and son.

Many believe in the celebration of death more then they do the celebration of new life, is this a part of us accepting the fact we must die?

The flesh was crying out to the Spirit God that had to leave the body of flesh for it to die for the supreme sacrifice. What fiction have you been reading or watching?  Jesus was never married or had children.

There have been some interesting posts.  I was with my father the last few hours of his life. He was in a comatose like state and I saw him take his last breath.  The next few seconds I felt total joy in my heart for about 5 seconds. At that moment, I knew my father was going "home" and what remained on the bed was just a body.  It was like a butterfly shedding its cocoon.  I believe we are spiritual beings having a human experience and that we truly don't die, we just transform.
